around the guidance for the Equality Act 2010, and is crowdfunding for a judicial review. Thought I ought to spread the word.

Dug!

@BitOfFun

Can somebody explain the gardening metaphor for me? I missed whatever started it off, and I keep seeing it!
It just means donated to fundraiser!
BitOfFun · 24/02/2021 18:29

Ah, that's what I'd hoped, thank you!

AdHominemNonSequitur · 24/02/2021 19:06

When I search on ann sinnot in crowdfunder I only get the AEA one, it looks correct but the total is only £2900, so I think it is the misinformation one. I guess it all goes into the same pot?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/02/2021 19:08

It's Crowdjustice, the legal one, I think

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/02/2021 19:08

They are separate funds.

OvaHere · 24/02/2021 19:53

The Crowdjustice funder goes straight to their legal team. The (smaller) Crowdfunder one goes directly to AEA to create the literature campaign.

OvaHere · 10/03/2021 00:57

Bumping this because there's five days to go and the garden is still a little bare.

Datun · 10/03/2021 01:22

Bumping too. This is the next Big One. We really need it.

Janeaustensquill · 10/03/2021 07:40

Donated. Thanks -

highame · 10/03/2021 08:19

AEA is significant action. I think it's a disgrace that the EHRC could give out wildly inaccurate information, correct that information but refuse to inform organisations that they got it wrong.

AEA could correct that misinformation with a letter. I think if Covid-19 lockdowns hand't happened, the company would have been able to fund this. 5 days to go, so it could do with some superdigging

PaleBlueMoonlight · 10/03/2021 08:24

Have dug.

Indeed. And now it transpires that they were at the census hearing, recommending staff ID on the census!

Dug

Leafstamp · 10/03/2021 11:12

Also just dug.

Fallingirl · 10/03/2021 11:25

This is so important. The one that needs funding most urgently right now, is the Crowdfunder one.

This one has the potential to be an actual alternative source of advice to companies, organisations, institutions etc about equalities law. -the alternative to Stonewall that we very badly need.

Yes I completely agree. Stonewall have cornered the market. But it is a market.

Leafstamp · 10/03/2021 13:37

Bumping with the link so it appears closer to the last post:

twitter.com/AnnMSinnott

As a PP has said the crowd funder one is the more urgent (ending in 5 days) and, although Ann is accepting of not meeting the original target, she is aiming for £10k.

The money will help mailshot organisation and advertise that the Equalities and Human Right Commission were forced to correct their guidance to reflect the Equality Act as follows:

The Equality Act 2010 permits the exclusion of GRC-holding gender reassigned people/transsexuals from single-sex services, accommodation and toilets, provided it is a proportionate means to achieve a legitimate aim.

That's meant to say self ID Blush.

I've donated. I wouldn't have known about it, were it not for this thread.

Joisanofthedales · 10/03/2021 20:16

Dug.
Thank you for the thread as digging for this is very important

OvaHere · 10/03/2021 21:16

Well done keeping this bumped. Ann Sinott's work is really important even though the crowdfunders might not seem as eye-catching as others at first glance. The recent court cases only strengthen what she is trying to achieve.
