Wearing a bra

charlotte2129 · 10/08/2020 14:43

Since having the implant put in my boobs have hurt like CRAZY!!! I'm waiting to hear back from the doctors as all contraceptives do this to me. But wearing a bra hurts so much and is really uncomfortable.

Not wearing a bra is so much more comfortable for me at the minute but I'm worried to leave the house without one on. If I saw another person not wearing a bra it wouldn't bother me in the slightest.. but I know other people aren't so accepting and are judgmental on the topic.

What are people's experiences leaving the house without a bra? Have you been judged and what do you all think?? Sorry if this seems like a ridiculous question, I just need some girly advice lol. Please no hate!!Smile

This OP is just plain weird. Confused

CousinKrispy · 10/08/2020 19:15

I had my implant removed early as I had horrendous mood/mental health side effects. The GP was a bit sour-faced about it but did agree. Definitely keep asking if you are sure you want it out and explain how uncomfortable it is making you. Good luck.

I’m pretty flat chested... an AA cup and I still wear a bra as I look like I have puppies noses under my top. They’re pointy as there’s no weight to them.

Dorobie · 10/08/2020 19:33

They look like moobs

highame · 10/08/2020 19:42

Saggage I assume that's a technical term 😂

Monstamio · 10/08/2020 19:57

You might be better off with a bralette rather than a traditional underwire. They're a happy medium until you can get your implant out and everywhere from M&S to Tu sell them now. Very popular among women who are breastfeeding as they are comfortable but still provide some support.

Monstamio · 10/08/2020 19:57

*They're a happy medium...

Utini · 10/08/2020 20:49

I haven't worn one in years. My family think it's odd and I used to get comments from my mum and sisters, so I guess it must be noticeable. No one else has ever mentioned it and I stopped feeling self conscious about it a long time ago.

ChewtonRoad · 10/08/2020 21:12

OP, try a good quality sports bra with good support in the band and across the back.

I never wore a bra when at uni and about your age and now gravity has been very unkind with the results, although that's not the case for every woman. These days I wear a light sports bra even when at home because it's just more comfortable.

Until you sort out the contraceptive implant you may find it more comfortable to wear a bra, but finding one may be the tricky bit.

cravingthelook · 10/08/2020 21:43

I've got fairly large boobs and for the last couple of years been wearing stretchy crop top things...no one has noticed.
Well my best friend has but he's permanently impressed by the cleavage without wearing a bra.

Mumsnut · 10/08/2020 21:48

The Sloggi ‘zero feel’ bralette is your friend , OP

StillWeRise · 10/08/2020 21:50

regardless of the bra issue it seems outrageous to me that we are suffering like this because of contraception and GP's are 'very keen' on implants and reluctant to remove them!
Can I remind everyone that if you are having PIV sex barrier methods of contraception exist and don't mess with your body.

Bra wise I think size is the crucial factor- I'm 34GG and would be uncomfortable without a bra, never mind how it looks/what others think.

So not it's a Feminist Choice whether to let your tits jiggle?

Along with choosing to shave your armpits and wearing heels or flats?

No doubt that will make you Prime Minister! Climb High!

ScottIansEyebrows · 10/08/2020 22:18

I’m in my late 40s and have never worn a bra. I don’t know what my measurements would be other than fairly dinky.

My boobs really used to hurt a lot just before a period. The boob pain was also quite bad when I first got a Mirena put in (I’m on my second one now; it’s great, no periods!) but I’ve been taking high-EPA fish oil for a few years, which has pretty much eliminated the pain.

Do what you want as long as you feel comfortable and are adequately covered, I reckon.

People are being real arseholes to an OP who has a genuine question and was just confused about which board to post on. I know FWR can be acerbic and everyone is on high alert for troll posts, but this is ridiculous.

ScottIansEyebrows · 10/08/2020 22:22

I’m hearing “jiggle jiggle jiggle” in the voice of Oogie Boogie now!

Franklyfrost · 10/08/2020 22:29

I don’t wear a bra as I find them uncomfortable. For a while it was a big deal having to show the world that my boobs weren’t perfect levitating spheres but I persevered and got over it.

Nomnomarrgh · 10/08/2020 23:42

Most people don’t give a damn about what you are or are not wearing tbh. Its all about what works for you.

StrangeLookingParasite · 11/08/2020 01:39

I hated the implant, and the nearly-constant bleeding that went with it. Left a scar on my arm, too, the bloody thing.

Going braless is not an option, unless I want black eyes (quite envious of those with a' s and b's). Sports bras, as previosly mentioned, sound like a solution.

Melroses · 11/08/2020 10:25

If you are feeling sorry for them you could report the OP and ask for it to be moved to Style and Beauty or Chat.

I did, but they didn't.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 11/08/2020 10:48

Why the fuck should the OP move the topic to S&B? The wearing or not wearing of bras is a feminist issue, as is the effects of implants.

The OPs question was a very feminist one - i.e what reaction have we received for not wearing a bra? As a non-bra wearer, and seeing this as a feminist issue, I answered. Others answered. The OP has clarified her prediciament and discussed the problems she has had with her contraceptive implant - a feminist issue.

DialSquare · 11/08/2020 10:51

My knees thank me every day for wearing a bra.

RollercoasterRaver · 11/08/2020 10:57

You do you....I would love not to wear one but I'm a HH cup and I'd knock someone out if I didn't haha
