I loved this, but I'm surprised he has not been arrested for blasphemy.

He will be a lot safer than a woman, but even so I saved a copy in case it or he disappears.

3.00: [sarcastically] "Gender's a social construct".

But gender IS a social construct.

FifteenToes · 09/08/2020 02:04

Quite wrong and dangerous that clip. It appears to start by challenging how the the trans narrative conflicts with the realities of biological sex (valid), but then elides from "sex" into "gender" and seems to finish by implying that everyone has their own "proper" gender and can't change it.

So you better getting ironing those pink frocks and playing with those dolls, girlies.

Yes there has been some criticism of the mockery of gender as a social construct. I have used the idea of social construct in discussion with my DS (20 and very TWAW) to try to distinguish between sex and gender, but I remember a time when it was just a word that people used because it seemed politer than ‘sex’.

I didn’t take a message of stick to your stereotypes - quite the opposite.

There is a previous thread. I find it funny. But yes, I think they have confused the gender is a construct saying as something TRAs say ( I mention that in the thread below).

To think that a man cannot become a bat? http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/amiibeingunreasonable/3985731-to-think-that-a-man-cannot-become-a-bat

Nearly anyone who isn't a feminist or trans activist uses "gender" as a synonym for sex, and uses "gender norms" or "sex stereotypes" to mean what feminists think of as "gender". You might disagree with that usage but that is obviously what he means, not that girls should have to play with dolls. He said on twitter that he wrote the song a couple of years ago, before it was so common for trans activists to outright state that sex doesn't exist.

I'm quite scared for him. He's very young. I'd imagine that it'll be easier for the TRAs to find a way to punish him than someone established like Glinner. And they'll really want to punish him for this.
