Our project needs participants!
Conducted with IARS International Institute, the main objective of the Children First project is to tackle gender-based violence in teenage relationships by combating stereotypes and norms fuelling dating violence. The project will tackle this issue from a child-centred approach and using the education system as the main field of intervention by building the capacities of teachers/educators and introduce an educational game to children. The expected results are: a) to reduce gender-based violence by improving the understanding of children and youth about the underlying social and cultural norms that reinforce gender inequalities and increase awareness of children/youth about stereotypes and how these can lead to choices, attitudes and behaviours in their relationship; b) empowerment of educators and teachers on how to identify and tackle cases of gender-based dating violence and c) increase public awareness of the topic and how such phenomena promote intolerance.

We are also looking for teachers/educators and parents (currently or formerly based within the UK) to be interviewed in order to understand the issue in more depth and to inform the development of a professional training programme for teachers/educators. This would consist of a semi-structured interview of approximately one hour or less, conducted via Skype or Google Meet. Interview findings will be presented anonymously in the final reports.
