I would bet money on them having willingly hosted plenty of actually political posters.

Dreeple · 30/07/2020 00:02

What’s even wrong with political posters?

ChurchOfWokeApostate · 30/07/2020 00:02

How can they say ‘We do not allow advertising that promotes one view over another‘, with their pretty rainbow in their logo?

It’s so messed up

StandUpStraight · 30/07/2020 00:07

It’s utterly ridiculous, but I am sure that Posie fully expected it - and I’m sure that was part of the point. So they have fallen for it, and this is going to bring even more attention to the totalitarianism of this ideology.

Fallingirl · 30/07/2020 00:08

Well played, Posie, you wonderfully shrewd woman.

Fallingirl · 30/07/2020 00:10

The Times already have it, but I am out of free of free articles this week...

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 30/07/2020 00:16

Dr is glad he doesn't need to get involved.

Here you go. Posie quoted at length. Bloody hell she’s good. What a brilliant way to show how far the tentacles spread. Network Rail, FFS!!

BloodSweatAndBeers · 30/07/2020 00:19

I miss Posie Sad

Fallingirl · 30/07/2020 00:30

And Posie highlighting how her message was one of love and support, making the people who had it removed show themselves as the hateful ones.

Brilliant.

bishopgiggles · 30/07/2020 00:39

So has that spot never had a political poster up? Or were all the posters (elsewhere) I saw implying support for the Conservative party which is now led by someone who has made explicitly racist slurs, racial hate speech?

womanaf · 30/07/2020 00:43

Oh but Posie’s brilliant. ❤️

pombear · 30/07/2020 00:46

Notwithstanding political adverts:

Advertising for cars vs Eco-messaging advocating for walking everywhere

Advertising for Tampax vs Period Pants

Advertising for holidays abroad vs staycations (particularly relevant due to Nicola Sturgeons' recent comments)

If Posie's one is taken down for its 'political context' - could anyone else just contract one just because they love JK Rowling?

Or is the act of loving JK Rowling a political and contextual viewpoint now?

Lamahaha · 30/07/2020 06:35

@PhoebeSnow

Daniel “ I got lucky because my mum is a casting director “ Radcliffe can fuck right off! Silly boy
This. My daughter was a classmate (or schoolmate) of the boy who was originally cast as Harry Potter. At the last minute the role was taken from him. Somebody else was slotted into the role...
Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 30/07/2020 06:46

I hope this means Posie gets another chance to demolish a fellow interviewee on national television.

Datun · 30/07/2020 06:54

That article!

Oh Posie:

She said: “I am astounded that they have found a way to take it down. We are in incredibly sinister times when an expression of love and solidarity is perceived to be hateful.”

Quoting JKR:

When others accused her of being transphobic, she argued that biological sex was meaningful to her and other women despite claims by some trans commentators that it was unimportant.

Re Adult Human Female:

“When they took down the other billboard at first it was all drama,” Ms Keen-Minshull said. “Then I realised it was really sinister, it was commercially more viable to remove the dictionary definition of woman and call it ‘hate speech’ than it was to keep it up.

Love and support is hateful, sex is meaningless and, oh yeah, let's give the AHF campaign yet more publicity. Plus she will be quoted now in every media report of cancel culture.

The woman is a master tactician.

And TRAs learnt absolutely nothing from Posie's 'we knew chaps like you would object' speech.

risefromyourgrave · 30/07/2020 07:00

@womanaf

Oh but Posie’s brilliant. ❤️
She’s excellent at bringing the sunlight.
Datun · 30/07/2020 07:04

Network Rail confirmed that the digital advertisement had been taken down because it breached its policy by promoting a political viewpoint.

Better remove that pride rainbow pronto then. Or be accused of discrimination, hypocrisy, bias...

Datun · 30/07/2020 07:11

Lily Maynard:

...the Streisand effect is in full swing here. Left unsensationalised the poster might not have captured the interest of the general public. An article about the poster’s removal in the Times will extend that reach way beyond a railway station. Hopefully, over breakfast this morning, thousands of people will be spluttering “What the fuck??” into their coffee as they read how ‘I heart JK Rowling‘ is considered to be a subversive political statement that must be suppressed.

Has it been proven yet that women are by far the cleverer sex? 😄

Floisme · 30/07/2020 07:33

When's the next Robert Galbraith novel coming out? September? Cos railway stations always put up billboards for new books Wink

PearPickingPorky · 30/07/2020 08:03

TRAs won't allow anyone to advertise the new Robert Galbraith books, I bet.

Floisme · 30/07/2020 08:09

It'll be very interesting if they try and stop it.

DickKerrLadies · 30/07/2020 08:21

Haha I bet he doesn't!

In fact, I'm surprised he even wants to remind people of the fact he 'got involved' last time.

Janie143 · 30/07/2020 08:38

Thank you Network Rail for saying the quiet part loud.

Thank you Posie Flowers
