I cancelled my tv licence a while ago. It took me a long time to convince myself to do it but I’m so glad I did. I don’t want to fund the BBC any more for various reasons, including the way licence fee enforcement criminalises disadvantaged women.

Now though I’m thinking about Netflix! I was really horrified to learn they’ve allowed their twitter account to be used by someone called rose dommu who posed with an axe on the Trans Day of Remembrance, and has spouted really vile stuff about JK Rowling.

Even more worrying, I’ve read that there is a link between Netflix and Abbott Laboratories which make Lupron.

Is this true? And is there anything good on Netflix which means I shouldn’t cancel my subscription? Has anyone else cancelled their Netflix subscription on ethical / feminist grounds?

It's surreal. But it wasn't received very well on twitter.

It's useful to see examples of what @rosedommu gets up to:

Netflix on the whole is great-but I think their new show 'The Babysitters Club' is seriously dodgy.....its grooming children into a cult.....I actually think it will highlight the madness to a lot of people who weren't previously aware
To be fair, the rest of that series is fairly good, that one episode is a shocker though.

I just do not understand how any sane, decent or well run company could possibly think giving rose dommu a huge public platform was acceptable, given the violent and degrading sexual nature of some of those images. Does Netflix endorse them?

I would feel alarmed to share a changing room with rose, or to think of any girl being bullied into doing so.

Which all makes me think Netflix is seriously dodgy. It’s a shame.

The adverts ive seen for the babysitters club looked so promising.
I liked the books as a child, I might still watch it with ds 10yo and start a conversation.
I do find it disturbing that this regressive gender nonsense is everywhere but this seems like a gentle in to questioning.
Netflix allowing that person on their platform is another matter, im not going to unsubscribe at this time but I could be persuaded if it becomes a theme.

They were def ratio’d and see Ben Shapiros tweet (only sharing re the ratio and it’s the first blue tick account I’ve seen to tweet about this)

I’ve rated the program with a ‘thumbs down’. I don’t know how much notice is taken of the ratings, but it can’t hurt.
