On her blog "Lipstick Socailist" Bernadette Hyland has posted an account by Pat Reynolds of IBRG's activities in 1986. This included supporting Dr Maire O'Shea at her trial in Manchester, campaigning against anti-Irish racism in the media, opposing the use of plastic bullets in Northern Ireland, calling for the repeal of the Prevention of Terrorism Act, lobbying local authorities to recognise the Irish as an ethnic minority, challenging the Irish government on its failure to support the Irish in Britain etc lipsticksocialist.wordpress.com/

I remember that time well. You will wait a long time before the Irish government supports its diaspora population. Mary Robinson was the first to really acknowledge its existence.
