GC candidates for Green Party Leadership - Deadline to join to vote 31st July

If anyone has the slightest inclination, the deadline to join is 31st July, it's £3 per month and you would the be able to vote for

Shahar Ali for Leader
Andre Carey-Fuller as Deputy

Both know what a woman is and have said so. Out loud.

You can always cancel the Direct Debit and you never know, it could work.

It's even cheaper for people with low incomes. £6 per year for unwaged and £12 per year for low waged or people outside of England & Wales. There is no intrusive system requiring that you prove your income levels either.
An absolute bargain in comparison to the other political parties!

MissLawls · 28/07/2020 15:30

Tempting...

OhHolyJesus · 28/07/2020 15:46

...it will be the first time us lefties can vote for someone who knows what a woman is and says it out loud!

Sorry I know I already said that it's just quite exciting!

The Greens have been so full over taken by the ideology so the chance of it being reversed is quite unexpected.

Thanks for the heads-up. I've joined a political party for the first time in my life

crumpet · 28/07/2020 16:52

Me too

OhHolyJesus · 28/07/2020 17:02

Oh fab Mira and crumpet, we need all the help we can get! I do hope you manage to navigate the members website ok. It's a bit tricky...

As members you can co-propose up to 4 motions until this Friday (check out the women's sex based rights) and the elections are open all of August I think.

I'm a Leftie who could have been tempted to join the Greens years ago but not recently OP.

Your Great Leaders are sorry excuses and their are only interested in paying homage to the Great Woke God. How the fck they are in their posts just fries my brain. At least Labour dumped Dawn Butler from her position. I have seen some of the 3 Leaders' comments and know how little they care for women's safeguarding. Fck'em.

How to destroy a genuinely decent & well intentioned political movement!

VortexofBloggery · 28/07/2020 17:58

Joined. I look forward to voting for Shahar & Andrea.

EffOffToThePatriarchy · 28/07/2020 22:35

Well, that's me told!

I sent the link for this thread to a friend who's in the Greens. She gave me a bollocking and said I should join the Greens to help her. It's not an option as I'm in the Labour Party, but I couldn't disagree with her ideas.

She also said that Aimee and David Challenor were the ones who were responsible for the Greens not having a Women's Policy. Wtf? How did anything they did, get to be kept as policy? The disgraced Challenors managed to ensure that any policies for women also had to include transgender women by redefining women to include males who said they were women. They must have been the source of many of the policies used now.

How do the Greens think this looks to the public - their policies for women were redefined by the Challenors.

No wonder the Greens need the help of as many feminist groups as possible. How do the GC ones in the Greens manage to argue with stupid and dangerous?

GreenieFingers · 30/07/2020 00:01

Apparently GPEW have some new and very wonderful new members. I'm completely in awe that the GPEW have these women in our Party now. Sheros every one!

OhHolyJesus · 30/07/2020 12:24

Deadline tomorrow and sharing this as an option for members to co propose up to four motions to conference if you are pushed for time - seeing as there are issues with the co proposing page.

Sorry I realise that wasn't clear as this thread is about voting in the leadership elections.

Members can also co-propose motions and there are sex based rights ones - please DM me if you need to know more or if you can, DM me with what you supported.

Thanks!
