Not sure if this is of any interest, but just posting because it has happened and someone must have thought it was important!

Thank you for posting this. I live in Scotland and am against the GRA. Have emailed my MSPs accordingly.

Cabinfever10 · 22/07/2020 23:35

Thanks for that

OhHolyJesus · 23/07/2020 08:20

That's really interesting thanks OP, I wonder if the hate crime stuff happened around the same time, maybe in some kind of response to the halting of GRA reform? I'm not sure if the timeline.

BetsyM00 · 23/07/2020 11:37

Confirming any GRA reform is for the next Government. Good to know.

Bella2020 · 23/07/2020 12:10

Thanks for posting, OP.

Good to know it's being left for the next Parliament. However, don't we have the Scot Gov elections next year?

Maria53 · 23/07/2020 12:13

I have voted SNP in the past but I am so angry about this I am not sure I can in next year's elections. How do others feel about it?

stumbledin · 23/07/2020 14:00

I must admit I was / am a bit out of my depth with the detail here, not being in Scotland, but was hoping that being made to publish unseen emails etc., more information comes to light.

I am not in any way against Scotland being able to set its own laws(!) but it did make me think what if in the future Scotland goes down the self id route, but UK (or in this instance England) does not.

Could someone from south of the border register under Scottish regulations and then return to England and expect that to be accepted.

What a mess.

Eveything points to the complete error of the GRA to begin with. Angry

Hi Stumbled

I think the next GRA reform meeting is Sept.

This FOI is very useful though.

I'm determined to get my Hate Crime submission done by the deadline tomorrow and I'm relieved there is no major worry about the GRA in Scotland for now but the emails are quite revealing I think.

stumbledin · 23/07/2020 14:28

OHJ! from the meeting thread:

Despite no announcement from the Gov about GRA reform, I am going to hold the Zoom link open on 22nd July 8pm if anyone wants to join me in drafting our letter to MPs.
