JK is getting a slating on Waterstones FB page's Ickabog promotion. I've added a positive comment, would others want to do the same.

Definitely worth doing. Waterstones seem to be emerging as a good online retailer for books having been hammered by Amazon for years. It is good to have a bookseller that sells books and does it well.

Waterstones are promoting it now to preorder. I ordered mine yesterday .

I don't argue on FB comments, I don't have the energy for it. I just report them all as harassment. No idea if it works but it makes me feel a bit better.

Funny how their ‘hate speech’ reporting has sub categories and sex isn’t one of them.

I am kind of amused by this stuff from people who are desperate to punish the wicked woman, but don't want to come right out and say they want to restrict free speech.

One of them on that thread basically says that free speech means she can't be prosecuted for her words, but it doesn't mean other people can't verbally abuse her, and you just know that he's really hacked off that she can't be prosecuted, and sees no disconnect between socially punishing her spoken desire to protect women and his own desire to freely intimidate women he disagrees with.

Have also registered my support on there. I'm glad Waterstones isn't allowing its policy to be dictated by a vocal minority of loons

I just picked up one of the comments from some idiot calling her a Terf, not to buy etc and asked what specifically did Jo say to upset them and unsurprisingly they replied to say that they've signed out now so won't be replying! I'm finding that the people shouting her down struggle to actually quote her hate speech as, you know, she's not actually done anything of the sort.

"I will not be buying her book" say bearded men who reveal themselves incapable of reading and/or understanding a long-ish blog post.
