Why is violence a solution to disgruntlement?

Why is it even an option? Why does it even occur to people to do such things?

He disagreed with something, he fought it through legitimate means, but ultimately he chose to kill someone over it. How does that progress his cause?

Why such hatred?

Violence is natural to men who really hate women.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 21/07/2020 08:36

Absolutely agree, it's shocking.

What I’ve learned from Twitter in the last 3 months:

Violence includes:

  • microggressions
  • misgendering someone
  • silence
  • dog-whistles

Violence does not include:

  • physically attacking anyone deemed a Nazi/TERF (note, the definition of which entirely depends on the perception of the victim who feels ‘violently attacked’ based on the definitions above and can thus claim self defence)
  • arson
  • looting
  • destruction of property

Welcome to political discourse 2020 style.

That's fucking sickening. Some men hate women so much. It's terrifying to think that they're out there and we have no way of knowing which ones they are.

kesstrel · 21/07/2020 08:54

Reads to me like his hatred and resentment of women was providing fuel for some kind of delusional disorder: obsession + paranoia are hallmarks. And wanting to date her? Weird.

A combination of entitlement/grandiosity and emotional development that got stuck around toddler age. As Lundy Bancroft says, these guys will tell you all about their anger management issues, which they don't have - they're perfectly capable of controlling their anger when it serves them to do so. They just believe they're entitled to do it and that others are lesser than the all important them and so deserve it for thwarting them.

Toddler. Very big body.

My heart breaks for Esther Salas.

This book examines the links between domestic violence and terrorism. Misogyny is such a huge threat to society, it's a little odd that so little is done to try and tackle it, really. By 'little', I mean 'nothing'.

God thats awful.

They're violent because they're men. Society indulges their stunted development and they're allowed to revel in it without facing the consequences until it is too late.

ShinyFootball · 23/07/2020 01:26

Racism plus misogyny plus male entitlement.

Not rare, sadly.

JellySlice · 23/07/2020 08:18

A toddler with a gun.

Sad
