Internalised misogyny

The older I get the more I see it ( especially on here) I thought it might have burnt it self out but I don’t think it has or will tbh. In fact I think there is a new wave of insidious misogyny that our children are going to walk in to and think it’s perfectly normal and modern such as if you want to breast feed your baby it’s something both parents have to agree on because the father wants to be involved. When did that happen? ( also when did men start thinking they could do this and why? But that’s another thread)

When did women belittling other women’s situations and experiences in favour to shout ‘but not all men are like that!’ become ok?

How can we ever fight misogyny when it’s so many women’s default position? When will women stop giving men power? Men take enough they don’t need women to give them anymore.

I really worry for my girls when they older.

Sorry for the rant!

I guess that internalised xxx is a thing, but I'm somewhat uncomfortable labelling things I disagree with as such.

It so often seems to be used as a weapon.

I can't believe we're going on for 60 years from Women what I thought were truly transforming times in terms of attitudes to women, more importantly women's attitudes to themselves. I opened my eyes and realised we've gone backwards.

I have a small hope. This current wave of crude, obvious misogyny might highlight to many more that it is a nasty, creeping blight and the way it is being highlighted might help us move forward.

We have to hope the EA is strengthened in a sure footed way and that withdrawing the GRA, regardless of the issues, is seen as the right thing to do for women.

Otherwise I burned some perfectly good bras for nowt.

I wasn't implying that withdrawing the GRA is on the cards, that's just a hope
