I've just been asked that very question by some fucking half wit on my online dating site Angry

Anyone got a snappy reply – to save me wasting my effort on the idiot by typing more than I need to?

@Broomfondle

Millions of years and an unbroken line of mothers and daughters make you female. There is a beautiful explanation of it here: mobile.twitter.com/lecanardnoir/status/1270022334108372993

It's the sex organised to make ova.
NB - the reason males don't make eggs is their sex. The reason women don't make eggs is not the same reason men don't make eggs.

Thanks for that twitter link, that's a great thread.

An unbroken line of females, all linked by our belly buttons.

That's a really good thread. I've thought for a while now that the parallels between gender theory and creationism are incredibly stark and I'm always shocked that more atheists don't seem able to see it. The author of that thread is absolutely right that denying reproductive sex is a form of evolution denial. Whenever I hear people say "if women are defined biologically then how come infertile women are still women?" I immediately think of creationists saying "if we all evolved from monkeys then how come there are still monkeys?" We are absolutely witnessing the birth of a new religious movement (which from an academic POV is pretty cool, even if from a social POV its a fucking disaster for women). Like all religious movements its deeply patriarchal, designed to subordinate women and anyone who isn't heterosexual, and driven by a belief in dualism - the idea that my body and I are two separate but connected things. Can we fight it? Probably not. We haven't managed to rid the world of any other forms of religion so I don't think this one will be any different. What we can do though is try to shunt it sideways into the legal catagory of "religion and belief". Something to be taught in RE and not science lessons. Something that people can be protected from if they don't share the religious belief. Something people have the right not to be evangelised to or indoctrinated about by the state.

Back on topic, you should totally block the twat and find someone who isn't so thick OP. I bet he's the type who knows exactly what a woman is when he's looking for someone to cook, clean, and shag him.
