Linda Bellos has been disinvited from a Zoom meeting aimed at the Jewish Community after complaints from a trans activist.

Not sure whether it is okay to post her message which is being widely shared on facebook.

She has chosen not to name the Rabbi who had invited her and had discussed her contribution which would be based on her experience of not only being Jewish, but Black and a Lesbian (and feminist?!).

Its not even clear if the complainant was a trans person or just some woke individual who thought they had the right to try and silence the voices of (yet another) woman.

I dont understand how you can buy into Abrahamic religions as a feminist. The idea that if there is a god it's male is ludicrous to me, I mean god is not going to be an animal is it. Anyway Linda is awesome and I bet who ever is behind this is male.

God isn't male in the Abrahamic religions, apart from Jesus in Christianity. Not having a body, sex isn't really relevant in the biological sense.

It's more that a) they see God as personal, so "it" doesn't really cut it as a pronoun, and b)they generally see God as something like a father. But all also talk about God at times in more feminine terms or images.

Yeap saying God is male is a problem with translation into English . For Muslims, Allah does not have a sex and I imagine it is the same in Hebrew.

Ranting because it REALLY pisses me off that gutless ingrates are prepared to bow to bullies and cancel women of the stature of Linda Bellos. That a Jewish organisation fails to see the dangers of collaborating with these totalitarian tosspots!!

Thank you for pasting Linda’s Facebook post. she’s already said it all there, but the injustice of it really gets me.
None of her non-violent, socially important political views give any justification for Linda to be banned from speaking on racism and race issues: but it’s even more obnoxious that she is being deplatformed because she has some views on sex and gender which wasn’t even her speaking topic for the meeting.

How exceedingly sinister for someone to complain to try to stop her speaking on race on that basis. How creepily authoritarian and solipsistic of whoever complained because they don’t like Linda’s feminist politics on sex and gender. Even worse, (I feel we need to keep repeating), for woman-silencing complaints to be indulged by whatever grown up it was that did not say no. Organisers need to step up for women and children and free speech.
