Hello! Sorry to bother the Mumsnet universe again but after Twitter decided they'd had enough of me I started a new website where I can talk about the things people don't want me to talk about AND the things people DO want me to talk about.

I've brought JL with me so our 'War on Women' updates will be coming from there as well.

Please do join us there! grahamlinehan.substack.com/p/coming-soon?r=7rqwr&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&utm_source=copy

@Dogman

Should I mention I’m not a man. Nor a dog.
That's a shame. You could start every post in FWR:

As a MAN and a DOG

And be quadruply more important than women. Grin

I hope you're doing well Graham. Do make sure that you're looking out for yourself. Thanks

@Pudmyboy

My message was meant to appear under Dianaslasso!

No way to organise that on these boards, posts appear in the order they are posted.

If you want to quote someone just use * before and after their words.

Otherwise there's a quote function for paid members.

if you want a poster to know you've mentioned them use @ then their username, they receive an email from MN to say they've been mentioned in a post. You will have done as I used @ before your username in this post, to show you how that works.

@Glinner I can't seem to see any of the posts! I've signed up as a free subscriber but it keeps saying that the content is for paying subscribers only... a glitch?

Pudmyboy · 18/07/2020 01:24

Thanks, Blank Times

Just practising!
I appreciate the help with this. Think I will subscribe to a few things, especially Mumsnet which has really saved my sanity recently.

@Glinner

Are you aware that glinner.com redirects to Mermaids website?

Looks like that could be an abusive domain name registration. Chances are you can get that taken down under UDRP policy.

WarmthAndDepth · 27/07/2020 22:51

I look forward to visiting. I just want to say that your words in a recent essay: (I paraphrase) "...think that the rights of women and girls is theirs to give away " had me uncharacteristically moist about the eyes last night. This is what kills me, the conflating of privilege with allyship. At women's and girls' expense.
A woman whose DC I teach, lives in a refuge in our city, on the other side of the country to where her violent husband lives. She is so nervous around men (as are her DC) that she cannot meet with our very gentle head teacher indoors, but requests a chaperone and a quiet spot in the playground. She's just one of many women, mangled by men's violence, whom I have worked with, whose rights are thoughtlessly bartered by those to whom it makes no odds whatsoever.

I've subscribed and I want to say thank you for making it available to us unwaged. I don't need the comments function I just want to keep up with what you and JL are writing and being activist about.

Thanks @Glinner for all your commitment. You were fighting for our spaces before I even realized there was a fight.

Pepper70 · 27/07/2020 23:35

Yup, @glinner website redirecting to mermaids, they are soooooo freckin sinister....

JemimaShore · 28/07/2020 01:23

Thanks Glinner.

I think it's a case of (in Star Wars speak) "if you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine" Grin

RiotAndAlarum · 28/07/2020 19:30

I'm in! Smile

Hi Glinner, kudos for the wonderful interview with Dr Jane Clare Jones yesterday evening.
I thought I'd click on it and view it later, but ended up watching the whole thing through, nodding away, as she articulated everything that I cant.
In my job, I cant afford to be out as GC and I feel cowardly for that.
Thank you for giving a platform to someone else to say it for me.
