Lib Dem Madness Strikes Again

TheRealMcKenna · 17/07/2020 16:57

The Apostle’s Creed word for word:

TWAW
TMAM
Trans people suffer more abuse that anyone in the whole wide world

This is why I’d never vote Lib Dem.

The comments are cheering me up

To summarise: “I listened to women and they are wrong”.

Can you imagine if the situation was reversed and he’d decided black people were wrong, or disabled people were wrong...

Twitter comments are heartening though.

Kit19 · 17/07/2020 17:12

Not remotely surprised.

You almost have to admire their utter determination to destroy themselves as a political party 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

bellinisurge · 17/07/2020 17:20

I'm reading more and more comments from people brave enough to say WTF. LibDems will just find themselves out of touch.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 17/07/2020 17:27

"Because of my principles blah blah blah"

No mate, it's because you're a misogynist arsehole and can happily sit there and say you have no issue with privileged straight males accessing female safe spaces because it has absolutely zero affect on you.
Men like this see us as less than human.

Sick of the bullshit stats of trans women being attacked/murdered etc too.

GrimDamnFanjo · 17/07/2020 17:30

It makes me really sad that the libdems are chucking away women's sex based rights. Liberalism is not just for the menz

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 17/07/2020 17:31

Me too. Transwomen are twice as likely to kill someone than be killed, in the UK. How the fuck are they the most vulnerable people in society?

FloralBunting · 17/07/2020 17:33

Look, he listened to women, and he listened with patience. He put up with listening to women objecting to fully intact males being locked up with women in prison, he probably managed to do this for more than 3 minutes. He's heard you, and he still thinks you absolutely don't matter. Now, put up, shut up and vote for him because he's really proud of helping to get rid of section 28, which is completely irrelevant to the current issue, some years ago.

sailorstrousersblue · 17/07/2020 17:39

This is why I can't vote Labour either (I'm in Wales), and Plaid Cymru will almost certainly be of the same mind:

The section 28 which was all about same sex relationships & lesbians not liking penises? That section 28?

ListeningQuietly · 17/07/2020 17:51

My my voting pattern much simpler from now on in

Whatwouldrowando · 17/07/2020 17:55

I finally commented on this madness on Twitter. Probably shouldn't have as it's my professional account (I freelance, albeit under a pen name), but fuck it. This is the hill I will die on!

thehumanformerlyknownasfemale · 17/07/2020 18:15

FFS, so even political parties are trotting out the ''most oppressed, most in danger, most discriminated against group in the history of the world ever EVER'' bullshit.

Do they not fucking fact check? Or do they just hope we won't? They lose all credibility (ha, if they had any to begin with) when they just start spouting lies that someone else has told them.

mine too, I've never really known enough about different parties' policies to decide definitively who I should vote for, I do now. Thanks Ed for saving me the trouble of having to research yours myself
joyjester · 17/07/2020 18:30

Sorry but I am getting confused. .can a transgender woman with or without a GRC legally use the ladies toilet?

wellbehavedwomen · 17/07/2020 18:39

Yep.

I'll only vote for a party that recognises that women are full human beings.

I never expected that to be a high bar, in 2020. But it is where we are.

Here's a legal explanation, with regard to the Equality Act.
justanotherneighinparadise · 17/07/2020 18:52

I’ve noticed a lot more rabid right wingers commenting on those Twitter threads now too. It goes to show a lot more people are ‘seeing’ this now.

joyjester · 17/07/2020 18:59

Thanks..that's a useful resource. And if i have read it correctly then no they do not.
