Matt Chorley is interviewing them both from 10.00 a.m. not sure how far into the programme but I should think they'll be grilled on how woke has destroyed the party and they'll definitely be grilled on how they get the party back into shape

Not sure I can bear to listen to her any more.

highame · 16/07/2020 10:42

Same here, but will give it a shot. They're on from 11.00 I don't think Matt Chorley will let her get away with much. I think she'll have a work cut out and I think Ed Davey is going to have a difficult time, after all, he must be woke too

I don't know much about Ed Davey tbh - maybe I should take the plunge with my fingers in my ears Halo

They are both an embarrassment. They both fasted for Ramadan in order that Muslims would not ‘feel alone’. I mean FFS. I’m not religious but even I know that’s embarrassingly off kilter. The Muslims I know enjoy the community and sense of purpose of Ramadan and they really don’t need a couple of Non Muslim LibDem idiots pity-fasting with them.

Confused ah well, at least that presumably means they won't ever make tedious pronouncements about 'cultural appropriation'.

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 16/07/2020 11:04

Well, there's only 2.5 million Muslims in the UK, and 1.8 billion globally, so I can definitely see how having two non Muslim libdems fast for Ramadan would make Muslims feel much less lonely.

Utter fuckwits.

FannyCann · 16/07/2020 11:06

It's beyond stupid. For Muslims Ramadam is much more than just fasting with prayer and community celebration of shared meals after sunset.
I assume these two sat alone with emergency deliveries from Deliveroo. Not remotely in the spirit and quite harmful really.

BettyFilous · 16/07/2020 11:06

Stripped of its religious significance for the individual and wider community and family aspects, is not just the woke equivalent of dry January?

highame · 16/07/2020 12:11

Interesting discussions, all about going back to LD roots and how good they are in local government. The last few minutes about woke and Layla Moran had definitely rowed back on what she was saying during the election. Both tried to avoid saying anything really. Matt Chorleys comment 'the viewers have heard you' usually is speak for, you didn't answer the bloody question. Not worth the 30 minutes listening though

Layla can see souls of transwomen Moran?
Am I right?

Here's a link to the webchat that Ed did last year...

I don't think he has claimed to be able to see into souls, but he is fully on message with the TWAW mantra. Sad
