I think (hope) it’s probably a Covid issue - I’ve had four pre-ordered books pushed back by several months, so I’m guessing print factories/distributors have been closed or had reduced hours/workforce.
Yeah, same. I have about ten books on pre-order, and all have had their dates moved. As have those we were meant to get over the past three months or so.
Having said that, Amazon won't sell My Body Is Me, which is the sweetest, most gentle book on body positivity and includes disabled kids, and boys in dresses and girls with short hair and dungarees, and the refrain, "I am my body, my body is me - it's a wonderful thing, I'm sure you'll agree!". Lots of mention of how different people like, and can do, different things, and that's all great. So I won't be amazed if I have to buy this somewhere else, either.
They sold Mein Kampf, and books by men on how to coerce consent, but wouldn't this. And how dare any parent want to encourage their preschooler to feel good about their bodies, and who they are - specially if that child is disabled? Because telling kids they're perfect as they are is bigotry and hatred of trans people. Definitely The Most Marginalised Group.
We live in a very odd world.
