Apologies if this has been covered already on this board.
Does anyone know much about "conservatorships", legally?
The fact that Britney Spears' actions have apparently been controlled by two men (her father and a lawyer, paid a lot from Britney's estate) for over a decade seems alarming.

I doubt this would happen if she was a man. Is there another case like this, where the person under conservatorship is male?

I hope that's not true about her sister or that creepy man in general with child stars (if forgotten about Amanda Bynes!). The showbiz world really is a cesspit isn't it.

An absolute cesspit and all in plain sight too. I used to believe the rumours that the actress Katherine Heigl from Grey's Anatomy was difficult to work with, however now realise that because her Mother/Manager insisted on being at every meeting/audition to with her they were most probably started deliberately as abusers were unable to have access to her.

Polkadotdelight · 13/07/2020 20:20

Sorry @LemonBreeland I just wondered if the links had all been removed (I love a conspiracy!)

princesshollysmagicalwand · 13/07/2020 20:56

Gosh, if you look at #freebritney on Twitter it takes you to all kinds of batshittery.

Still though, there does seem to be something odd going on. It's not a common thing, what's happened to her.

Also saw this blind item on there... sounds like The Truman Show!

Apparently Britney's younger sister is a 'daddy's girl', probably explains why she's out the limelight x

CourtneyLurve · 13/07/2020 21:48

Her eldest son will be 18 in a little over 3 years. I would never wish it on any child, but maybe he'll be able to fight for her then.

AskingforaBaskin · 13/07/2020 21:58

Or maybe he'll be so damaged by what his relationship was with her he may cut her off.

princesshollysmagicalwand · 13/07/2020 22:16

I don't think they could do much until they're 21 over in the US, 18 isn't really any sort of legal age there is it.

It's terribly sad. I hope it's all wrong and it's just a family trying to protect one of their own who is suffering with their mental health. It all seems a bit weird though. The truth will come out eventually, it always does. Just hope it's in time.

ThatsHowWeRowl · 13/07/2020 22:23

I follow her on Instagram and there is something very off with it, but I can't quite put my finger on it? She always looks quite unkempt, with old smudgy makeup and strange clothes (although maybe that's just what she likes) and the dancing and endlessly walking back and forth across the camera. And the captions don't quite make sense with the pictures, and they sort of seem obvious to everyone's concerns. A lot of people are convinced it's not her posting and think they are old photos? I don't know, it's odd though.

Things have not been right with her for a long time though. This video is from years ago, it's touted around as evidence of 'MK Ultra Mind Control' 🙄 but there is definitely something up, even if it's a nervous tick or something?

To be honest I shudder to think about what she has been through over the years. Her poor boys as well Sad

18 is the legal age of adulthood in the US. They can't buy/drink alcohol in certain states until 21.

Jesus.

ComDummings · 13/07/2020 22:57

I feel so bad for her, in 2007 when her ‘breakdown’ started it all went downhill. The conservatorship is bizarre that it’s still ongoing and as others rightly say, how can her dad still have so much control yet make her work. Plus he assaulted Britney’s son. She’s like a shell of a person now. Perhaps it’s the meds she’s on but perhaps it’s also the fact she has zero control over her life yet still being worked like a dog making money for others (men). She seems so sweet and lovely, I really hope she is OK.

creativecringe · 14/07/2020 00:35

This makes me think of the miley cyrus's black mirror episode. Connecting the two gave me chills.

Gingerkittykat · 14/07/2020 02:18

It's very hard to tell what is going on here without access to court decisions.

Is it possible she is taking medication and if she stopped she would replapse?

She has always seemed a bit robotic in interviews, I wonder if it is psychiatric drugs doing that.

Bluewavescrashing · 14/07/2020 02:34

It's extremely disturbing.

Bluewavescrashing · 14/07/2020 02:35

The eyelash thing - call 911 😳

FromEden · 14/07/2020 04:01

That video is so strange! Almost like tourettes or something.

I feel sorry for her, its no kind of life and it certainly seems she is being treated as a cash cow with no concern for her wellbeing at all.

Shmurf · 14/07/2020 04:39

I'd rather they freed Kylie Moore-Gilbert tbh.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 14/07/2020 08:14

Her TikToks are fucking weird. Just endless videos of her dancing in her house alone or walking back and forth in tiny outfits smiling at the camera like robot barbie.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 14/07/2020 08:31

That Insta is weird. The pic with the 911 lashes the blurb seems to support it “not airbrushed” (ie something fishy because why mention it) and the comment about the sun in the eyes. It feels like a code.

Badmemorieshouse · 14/07/2020 09:23

Utterly bizarre!

Istory · 14/07/2020 09:30

It's clear she is very mentally unwell, sadly.

Given her high net worth and global fame she does have the capacity to do more damage to herself and others than any other average person on the street. She's very vulnerable to being exploited by others, too - that is partly what happened when she had her public breakdown, she kept firing her team and attaching to skeezy characters like Sam Lufti, who constantly sold her out to the paparazzi.

Britney's mum allegedly sold her out too, so I don't think she's a reliable source on this.

I think it must be extremely complicated. I always wonder why her hair is such a mess - she has enough money to have someone come to her house every day to do it if she wants! Those long extensions don't look cared for. I wonder if she's just not capable of caring for herself, even to the minor degree of her hair.

Perhaps her Dad isn't the best character. If he assaulted her son, that is unforgivable. But if she does need protecting, perhaps he is the best of a bad bunch? Who else would dedicate their life to doing this, presumably quite difficult, job?

But then perhaps it is never morally right to curtail someone's freedom to this extent.

On the other hand, I imagine if she was given that freedom, she would burn through her wealth in just a few years and damage her mental health even more through bad relationships and choices. Perhaps this is a way of safeguarding her so that her sons don't have to deal with her maximum level of chaos and have some chance of inheriting the money she worked so hard for.

It's clear she's been exploited from a very very young age and everyone involved should be ashamed. It's like some awful fairytale about what happens to young girls in the public eye and how totally their youth and beauty is consumed by both those around them and the public. If young celebrities aren't protected, they will suffer for it for the rest of their lives. That bloody schoolgirl video for Hit Me Baby - she was sixteen years old. Why didn't someone step in and say that they didn't want her to be this sexy schoolgirl character? She wasn't old enough to understand why this wasnt going to be good for her in the long run.

SinkGirl · 14/07/2020 09:33

Everyone should watch An Open Secret - it’s not a coincidence that such a proportion of child stars go on to have breakdowns or substance abuse issues. It’s engineered. Aside from being abused they are also given drugs by their abusers, they become known as “that star with with drug problem” and therefore an unreliable witness. It’s not coincidental. The film is exclusively about male victims but you only need to think for two seconds to come up with a list of female stars who must also have been victims.
