Apologies if it’s already been posted,

That's a good article.
Particularly agree with:

"I am increasingly of the view that those who participate in these pile-ons enjoy the buzz of the kill as much, if not more, than they care about whatever view it is they claim to find unacceptable"

That's a brilliant letter.

It takes a strong stomach to tell feminists who have spent a lifetime fighting for the rights of women that they are, in fact, hateful bigots but, rather than engage with the questions they raise, many men seem happy to do just that. And a glance at social media quickly reveals that they often do so in the most revolting ways.

Sending tweets to women instructing them to shut up and suck your f*ing dick isn’t progressive, no matter how fashionable your haircut or skinny your jeans.

I do wonder if the men, reveling in the chance to mansplain, hector and abuse women while pretending it's "to defend the most vulnerable women of all", think we don't notice that the only women they care about are those born with penises. Funny, that.

Another superb article in The Scotsman. I like the author's accurate wording here:

"The reason for [the outrage about the Harper's letter], it seems clear, is Rowling’s presence among the signatories, Her recent remarks about women’s sex-based rights have made her a target."

In the Guardian, HuffPost etc etc etc, this would be phrased as "her recent remarks about trans rights" or "her recent attacks on trans rights".

The Guardian refers to her 'broadside". Dictionary definion: "a fierce verbal attack".
