Guess what's more problematic than beating up women?

Being one!

ew.com/movies/fantastic-beasts-franchise-future-jk-rowling/

Rowling made the terrible error or having an opinion while in possession of a vagina, fucking horrible mistake which we all make from time to time. Luckily we have Twitter to smack us back into our places. So anyway the two male stars are currently in the media for beating women, but you know what's "arguably the most difficult issue"? Yes, you guessed it. It's that bloody Rowling with her opinions. Obviously.

The problem for Fantastic Beasts is less about the particulars of each case (though the Rowling issue appears especially damaging, at least at the moment)

Rowling has been universally criticized for her trans beliefs
ahem, 'universally'?

Arguably the most difficult issue is Rowling, who is creatively integral to the franchise and quite adamant in her views

pesky women, with their opinions eh

Yeah i saw that article. They didn't even quote JK they just went straight for "JK is tewible"... When i looked the comments were good. Probably been spammed by tra now though.

Collidascope · 09/07/2020 16:50

They've called Ezra Miller a man in that article... I thought Ezra identified as non-binary? Has that changed now?

Highperbolay · 09/07/2020 16:54

Wow, when you see misogyny in action in this way it really is quite breathtaking isn't it?

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 09/07/2020 16:55

I suppose them at least admitting that Rowling is central to the franchise in a way the actors aren't is something? A small something in a giant pile of misogynistic shit.

Collidascope · 09/07/2020 16:56

Yup. Transphobic article. Fetch the ducking stool - oh wait, no, a man wrote it.

barely identify as human

I think my eyes just rolled out into the garden somewhere.

What I'm taking from that article Collidascope posted is that Miller is absolutely insufferable.

SheWhoWillNotPutUpWithYourShit · 09/07/2020 17:00

@TheProdigalKittensReturn there will be a update later to where they just starting naming the real author of HP as some male fan fic writer. I think that's what's being discussed on twitter now anyway, because why not identify as a real writer?

How dare you be an entity that breathes air and bleeds! HOW DARE YOU!!! You are UNBELIEVABLE. THE CHEEK OF YOU!! 😂

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 09/07/2020 17:03

If Miller barely identifies as a human then what is he meant to be? A plant?

Collidascope · 09/07/2020 17:10

A turd?
SheWhoWillNotPutUpWithYourShit · 09/07/2020 17:14

Certainly something of turd about him.

But it wasn't a man choking a woman to the ground in that video. They don't identify as a man, so that means they aren't a man, so it wasn't male-patterned violence.

JK Rowling's the real issue here. She isn't sure she agrees with the above statement; clearly we should burn the witch.

Icantreachthepretzels · 09/07/2020 17:24

I don't know about Ezra Miller or Fantastic Beasts (not seen the films - didn't realise he was Credence) but I do know if I was JKR I would make the creative decision that for the next three films Newt Scamander had to go deep under cover and that meant taking polyjuice potion the whole time - and then cast some nice, young actor who knows what a woman is to be Newt's new face.

Siablue · 09/07/2020 20:14

I didn’t know about Ezra Miller. That is awful was He prosecuted for this?

DrDavidBanner · 09/07/2020 21:18

The only thing problematic about the last Fantastic Beasts film was the shite acting.

I can't comment about Johnny Depps behaviour but his heavy drinking has destroyed his talent which is a terrible waste.
