The video is nauseating.
The part they can never understand: the heart-to-heart ongoing conversation and communication between a pregnant woman and her baby. The baby hearing her heartbeat, knowing her from the inside. She feeling into the baby, being one with it. This is what humans do. Machines or pods can't do it.
I don't even want to argue this; it's so preposterous. Either you get it or you don't.

That is horrible.

Pedophiles and perverts and men who want to erase women would rejoice.

It'll be so great to live in a world where billionaires and governments can buy thousands of artificial wombs to grow their own private workforces and militaries. What a liberated world for women that sounds like. I can hardly wait.

I find the responses both hilarious and terrifying in equal measure.

How would you recreate embryonic liquor? How would you regulate and recreate blood flow and waste? How would you ensure consistent suspension as the foetus grew? Never mind questions like how you would manage transfer into the pod, how you would deal with placental attachment...

And the viewing panel concept is ridiculous. You would be exposing a developing foetus to light.

It's got to be satire, right? No one is this stupid.

Ducksarenotmyfriends · 08/07/2020 09:52

On the other hand, if an artificial womb were possible it could have fantastic outcomes for babies born prematurely if they could be transferred into one to continue gestation.

LunaNorth · 08/07/2020 09:55

‘Where are you going to keep the foetus? In a box?’

Apparently so...

Ducksarenotmyfriends · 08/07/2020 09:57

Although, it'd be better to have better funding into women's health issues/pregnancy to address the root causes of premature birth in the first place...
