How do you call out misogyny when you see it?

I'm interested to hear if anyone's found effective ways of making people think twice about ingrained misogyny (if an effective way exists).

I was contacted on online dating by a man who told me in his first message that his ex-girlfriend had 'trapped him' by having sex without contraception and then getting pregnant. (I attract these nutters because of my personal commitment to celibacy until marriage for religious reasons, I don't expect others to have the same views but I'm upfront about it as I think it's only fair). I replied and said that I didn't want to take it further with someone who couldn't accept their own responsibility for contraception and deciding whether or not they were going to have sex. Funnily enough, he never replied.

This was a standout event I don't usually do this! Many years ago I was in a pub with my ex husband and two of his male friends. One of them made a loud sexist comment about the barmaid's anatomy, so I kicked him hard up the arse. I must have been a bit too close as my foot went up and bashed his plums. Sorry not sorry! As to how effective this was long term at preventing misogyny with this man I couldn't say...

Just a funny story. Not sure how effective it was in challenging his misogyny and entitlement!

This utter creep wouldn't leave me alone in the pub on Xmas eve once (about 15 years ago I think) and wanted my number. He gave me his phone to put it in so I changed the language into Finnish. And obviously didn't put the number in. I do hope he worked it out. It would have been so terrible if he hadn't been able to change it back until the call centre was open again after Xmas Day.

I just call them a mysonogystic cunt and (In my experience) racist and homophobic.

I don't associate with these particular male aresholes anymore
