Ok, still quite new to this so I really don't know all the ins and outs...was just listening to an old spiked podcast with Posie Parker and Venice (forgotten her surname) and found it really interesting, then went on twitter and found a lot of people criticising them over some drama that I can make no sense of. Could someone fill me in on the reason for people disliking them / give me a balanced view on what's going on?

@SomeDyke

Feminism is about and for all women, even right-wing christian fundamentalists. And how are you going to help those women, if you're not even willing to talk with them on a single issue we do agree on? Perhaps some of those women will discover we're not all baby-eating (female) bishops of Bath and Wells, but women perhaps like themselves, who might be worth listening to?

ALL women.........

Completely agree! I'm NOT a conservative woman but I grew up with several. We completely disagree on abortion and gay marriage but agree on most every thing else - including access to birth control (I'm in the states so access to equal health care for women is a big problem). I disagreed with the Women's March when they banned the anti-choice women - if we can't even TALK to them, how can we help them and why throw away allies who would fight with us against violence towards women, equal pay, sports parity, etc. ?

GoldenCurtain, welcome to FWR, and it’s good to meet you. I’m sorry to hear about your bad experiences.

Feminists argue because they all feel strongly about these issues and don’t necessarily agree on how to tackle them.But there’s a lot of support too, and a treasurehouse of knowledge andexperience.
