DV support in lockdown

On mobile, so no link. Visited New York Times website and was horrified by the story I read. Of the £37 million that the UK government shouted it was giving to domestic abuse charities to help with the expected rise in abuse, only £1 million pounds has actually been handed out.

This is despite a tripling in the number of domestic-abuse related murders taking place in these dark months.

I found it, its a eraly good article, the govt has done next to nothing for women at risk from DV, in contrast with many other countries;

''The government did not commission its first strategic action plan for addressing domestic abuse until late May — two months after lockdown commenced — and the resulting report found that violence against women and girls was “still not being factored into the highest levels of the pandemic response.”

“There is no defined government strategy at all,” said Jess Phillips, a Labour lawmaker who speaks for the opposition on domestic violence policy. “Some services have got no funding to keep going.”

I noticed that my council has changed its website’s information about coronavirus. In March it had loads of useful information about escaping. Now I couldn’t see anything.

I've had zero support. I fled my abusive ex in april. I had to leave with nothing but my phone and passport. The police bought me the belongings my ex packed up. All ruined clothes his size not mine I'm tiny.

I'm staying at my friends and housing are awful. They take days to reply. Been promised a call about accomodation for days now and no reply when I tell them no ones rang me.

I've just had my psychiatrist referral rejected because a&e put the paperwork in the same day as my gp referred me. So it looks like I've been assessed since and discharged with a plan but I havent I went to a&e on a sunday the plan was to speak to my gp the next day to get a referral to this psychiatrist for an assessment and referral to appropriate mental health services.

I feel absolutely shocking. Im going to see my mum tomorrow and I'm pretty sure shes going to take me to a hospital when I tell her how I feel.
