Just that really. Sorry if there's already a thread.

Annoying, picture didn't attach.

I loved this so much. So powerful!

Does anyone know anything about the music used? It's really good.

BentBastard · 03/07/2020 21:38

If only the dripping on the floor were unrealistic. I've on more than one occasion done the most bizarre waddle to the bathroom in the hope of getting there safely so the drip didn't land on the bedroom carpet.

MaryRaddy · 03/07/2020 21:40

@FancyPants20 its Pumarosa Priestess Shurs Remix

CallarMorvern · 03/07/2020 21:43

I was almost afraid to watch, I've been using Bodyform for the best part of 40yrs, didn't want to start again at this stage. Relieved to see that I can carry on! Wonderful video. Bodyform you rock.

BentBastard · 03/07/2020 21:43

It was also Bodyform that produced this a few years ago...

Evelefteden · 03/07/2020 22:03

Loved the advert, it was brilliant. I have endometriosis and I feel that dinosaur.

Bent I’m in in stitches at that second advert Grin

JellySlice · 03/07/2020 22:34

Naaa, blosstree, you don't want such fat legs. I have chub rub even when I have no chub anywhere else on my body!

Randomfires · 03/07/2020 22:36

GrouchyKiwi

I also think it's important because so many men have no fucking idea what a period actually entails. Sanitised ads contribute to that

Men won’t see this though. It won’t be shown on TV as this is 3minutes long. It’ll be digital only - and there’s no way they will pay to serve these ads to men who won’t but their product

GrouchyKiwi · 03/07/2020 22:42

It's in news media, there are plenty of men in the YouTube comments (eg a new dad). Whether these are the men who needed to see it is the question, I suppose, but men will see it.

I'd love for them to buy ad time before a film or whatever but I doubt it would happen.

SpillTheTeaa · 03/07/2020 23:07

I love it. It shouldn't be taboo subject. So well done. Big clap for bodyform

Picassosfriend · 03/07/2020 23:26

Such an amazing video - well done bodyform!

SittingAround1 · 03/07/2020 23:31

I liked the woman holding her newborn baby at the end whilst wearing those humongous netted knickers and maternity pad mattresses

I remember buying some before giving birth and thinking WTF !

Thisismytimetoshine · 03/07/2020 23:35

God, yes, they are not pretty Grin

Voice0fReason · 03/07/2020 23:37

And who's ever been taken by surprise by dripping blood on the floor? You'd have to be standing legs-akimbo for that to happen.
I really related to that bit. My periods aren't generally that heavy but I've experienced that a number of times - without standing legs-akimbo!

thespiderspeed · 04/07/2020 00:35

@Whatsnewpussyhat

Just a quick FYI for anyone switching brands. I swapped to bodyform years ago when always told us the scented pads never cause thrush or cystitis and women love their fadge smelling like a car air freshener Hmm. Until recently the pink or turquoise bodyform packs I used to buy said perfume free on the front of the packet. They've now changed and say fresh feel or similar and are scented, so if this is an issue look for the white packet that says allergen free.
This is strange, I changed to Bodyform when Always capitulated and I use a combination the Ultra Normal/Long Wings & Goodnight pads. All the pads I have at home are all in the new packaging and are unscented.

www.bodyform.co.uk/our-products/towels/

Just looked up the website. They do the normal unscented range, a scented range called Deo Fresh and then the Pure Sensitive range.

blueberrymuffin88 · 04/07/2020 01:16

Fuck that is beautiful. Women are beautiful.

lady69 · 04/07/2020 01:22

The words that go with it on their site are great to. Women. Girls. Love it!

Have you seen the new Bodyform advert?
Auldspinster · 04/07/2020 01:32

The night ones in the blue pack are unscented and have got me through many a fibroid induced mega heavy period.

Ireallymustgotobed · 04/07/2020 02:11

I can’t decide if I like it or not. It certainly is powerful and honest, and a vast improvement on blue liquid, white shorts and ‘people who menstruate’. But I’m not sure I want to be unexpectedly reminded of the devastation I felt when I discovered my first baby had no heartbeat during my 12 week scan by an advert designed to sell sanitary products (some of which are used by women miscarrying not menstruating.)

IHateCoronavirus · 04/07/2020 02:31

I loved it. Honest with the good and the bad. There needs to be more dialogue about the issues women face to build understanding. Often issues such as fertility problems, endometriosis, stillbirth/miscarriage etc can result in feelings of isolation and shock. “Why me?”, “What did I do?” Seeing other women, even characters in adverts, experiencing the same will make many women feel less alone.
Then, perhaps others will be more prepared, spot signs earlier because they will be more aware of various situations, be empowered to seek help.
I would rather my daughter see this than the tampon advert or one which will set her up for an unrealistic set of expectations, blue blood and white shorts included.

AnyOldPrion · 04/07/2020 06:04

So glad to see that Lady69. It appears some companies are listening.

ConstanceSalinger · 04/07/2020 06:29

Brilliant work. Reminded me of watching "The Vagina Monologues" in Manchester donkeys years ago. Think I saw the one with Kerry Katona.

I'm sorry that some felt grief by watching it, I did also, but I'm still glad that SOMEONE is talking about it.

Bettercallgall · 04/07/2020 06:57

@noblegiraffe

What was the bit where a woman is pulling a plaster off with cuts on her stomach?
It looked like my stomach after I was sterilised. That bit made me smile as it reminded me of the first rebellious thing I did against my abusive ex who used pestering me into more children as a form of control. Sorry I know that has nothing to do with the advert.

Brilliant advert though. Makes a change from the usual shit.

ItsLateHumpty · 04/07/2020 06:57

I’m late to this thread, so I’ve only just watched this, and followed the twitter links - still no backlash!!

I liked it, lots.

I really liked all the cartoon women at the end, all different body types and shapes and swinging boobs Grin
