Newsnight BBC action line complaint

I complained about the presence of Mermaids in the action line webpage with no alternative viewpoint especially considering the Newsnight programme that was all about how medical professionals felt external pressure groups (not named, but presumably including Mermaids) had negatively impacted the safety of patients at the Tavistock. To me, it was just astounding. Got this response...(see below).Pretty disappointed with the BBC. Is there any further complaint process?

Wonder what that criteria is exactly?

I am sure they received numerous complaints about this, but have cosen s lays to ignore women. Yes the criteria would be interesting, but the link didn’t work for me when I was going to try to get an answer.

Maybe I should ask. I am not a campaigner or some hard core anti trans person. I just think vulnerable young people and parents shouldn't be directed to either the NHS that the programme has shown is NOT reacting safely, or a charitable group that is essentially a political pressure group. Surely there must be some alternative groups that aren't hateful to transpeople but offer parents measured and appropriately cautious advice that encourages them to support their child in what the deeper issues might be (including mental health and ASD, which were mentioned in the programme)?

That criteria information should be available, infact it should be in the large print at the bottom of the page.

Can you reply to ask for details of the criteria?

i received exactly the same response and i'm also wondering about the details of the criteria used to determine what organisations should be included as resources of information.

If it was say the money programme, reporting on a financial scandal, I'm pretty sure that the organisation under discussion wouldn't be listed in the sources of advice.

How about raising an FIO for details of the criteria used?

Don’t they still promote the struck off doctor now selling her services over the internet from Spain? Now if that didn’t give good cause for the link to be taken down I don’t know what would.

But it’s the BBC isn’t it?
