I want to buy The Madness of Crowds.
I've cancelled my Amazon prime account after their announcement about supporting Mermaids.
I just went to Hive and before I even search I am being offered various books such as Transgender 101, Books by Juno Dawson etc, all on the home page.
Waterstones front page is trying to flog me some libfem tripe by Florence Given, where she tells me that fat black TWs have to work 100 times harder to be accepted as pretty so let's stop thinking about ourselves so much and think about the poor TWs
Can anyone recommend a book seller that is neutral or pro GC please.
So fucking sick of this shite.

I've used these guys for a while, mainly beacause I boycotted Amazon a good while ago. Many 'independent' booksellers are part of Amazon now so do check their ownership. I do this by cross-checking the Amazon Wikipedia site for businesses they own, and looking at where the business is registered.

Yes, but, for example, you can still order from News From Nowhere in Liverpool - a women's co-operative that has been in existence for many decades. In fact, even in the best of times they can get books to you quicker than any of the chains.

I ordered a lock-down book for my Dad and it arrived to him within a week or so.

Isn't the main character in The Children of Green Knowe called Toseland (Tolly)? Loved those books.

I’ve been looking for an alternative to Amazon but I don’t have a great amount of choice where I live (canada). My only local bookseller, who I had been planning to use, decided to put out a statement this week condemning JK Rowling, so they’re off the list, and all the other booksellers around here are second hand only. I don’t mind buying second hand, but sometimes its hard to find what I want there, and they’re all closed right now anyway.

I can’t afford to buy books but I read a lot. So I have kindle unlimited

I mean I read a lot not a book a week. So maybe a book a day fast reader

Our local bookshop has been open for a good while now. Order by phone or facebook and then collect at the door or delivery by bike. When I first started shopping for feminist books the owner high-fived me!

Real bookshops are my favourite places to browse. Online, biblio.co.uk and worldofbooks.com are good sites for secondhand books. I buy new ones from Blackwells.co.uk and Waterstones.com. I hope none of them have drunk the Kool-Aid ....

www.betterworldbooks.com/ sells secondhand and new books to raise money for literacy charities--and posts them free of charge. There's quite a big selection (they sell a lot of ex-library books in good condition).
