Extinction Rebellion says TWAW, no debate.

So disappointed to see this on FB and Twitter today, issued by Extinction Rebellion UK.
What science is it we're meant to be following?
Which truth are we telling again?
I really thought they'd do better than this.
Until this afternoon mods appeared to be deleting comments questioning the statement, but this evening some dissenting voices have been left to stand, at least for now.
Infuriating.

📢📣🌈 TRANS PRIDE 🌈📣📢

Extinction Rebellion offers our unconditional support and solidarity to all trans people in the face of unrelenting attacks from Trans-Exclusionary-Radical-Feminists, the media, elected politicians, and even from leading voices within the environmental movement.

We do not believe that the existence of trans people, or the clearly documented oppression and abuse they experience is a topic that should be up for debate.

Trans women are women.
Trans men are men.
Non-binary and all other gender expressions which do not conform to the gender that person is assigned at birth are valid, legitimate, and true.
This is not up for debate.

Ultimately, transphobic rhetoric legitimises both structural and personal violence against trans people.

We state loudly and clearly: Trans liberation is intrinsic and inseparable from the liberation of all of humanity. Trans comrades are at the front and centre of our struggles, and long may they remain so.

Take action on July 4th

Not a real surprise, though, surely?

Its a rot isnt it. No debate?! That statement in itself they should realise is beyond problematic.

I’m not surprised.

My NB sibling is pals with some of the inner circle of XR.

Front and centre.

Really? Wouldn't you think they would have enough to do with literally saving the world?

Anyway who are these leading environmentalists that do have a bit of sense, I will support those people instead.

We really will be extinct if they get their way then.

Sounds like a speech out of 1984 or a dictatorship.

It’s a shame as I’ve been quite involved in the past. Game over for me.

Didnt some of them glue themselves to a train?

‘This is not up for debate’ Hmm

Oh the pomposity

I do sometimes wonder if the only logical explanation is a convoluted conspiracy to reduce world population by mass sterilisation of teens and messing with other people's sexuality such that reproduction is unlikely.

Notice that TERFs are listed first in the “unrelenting attackers” chart. How many assaults and murders of trans people have been carried out by women again? Can someone remind me please?

I hope my ex is fawning all over social media because I fucking love it when he does that even though he told me they should be actually shot by police when they were glueing themselves to things and causing problems at airports.

They glued themselves (naked) to the windows in the spectators gallery overlooking the House of Commons didn’t they?

Report
RufustheRowlingReindeer · 28/06/2020 23:24

They’ve got a thing about gluing themselves to stuff

Tells me all i need to know about them

(Don’t let them have have any glue would be number 1)

No surprise. They aren't known for their logic or intelligence.

This really made me laugh, I mean you couldn’t write this satire if you tried.

A political movement based on the science of climate change is now pushing a dogma with no basis in biology. How will they hold up to scrutiny of climate change deniers now.

Rupert Read (who has sometimes been a spokesperson for them I think) is GC, but I don't know how public he is about it now. He got bullied and "apologised".

In my experience XR are mostly well-meaning dickheads. This doesn't surprise me a bit.
The solution to our climate crisis does not lie in their hands.

OK, seems not much love lost here. I was hoping for some commiserations as have a lot of time for XR. What's more, I really didn't see it coming, despite being quite engaged with large regional group until fairly recently.

I think they will probably go extinct as well.

All these 'organisations' seem to be run by the same professional SJWs anyway so no surprise there.
