This is doing the rounds on Facebook. If this is the sort of thing people use to decide they're 'in the wrong body', well, it might explain why TRAs have some problems with uppity wimmin. www.idrlabs.com/gender/

I'm also "casually masculine" better tell DP Grin
I'm a straight woman.
Yes I'm not a delicate flower but that doesn't make me a man, just a strong woman.

StrangeLookingParasite · 28/06/2020 20:49

Also a man.

@Stripesgalore

Banana, I don’t understand why it is funny that feminists don’t know what masculine and feminine mean.

Not sure what I am missing here.

We know perfectly well that how masculine and feminine we are deemed according to social norms has little to do with what women are capable of being and doing.

We are amused because of the likes of Mermaids "educating" us that people are trans if their pink and blue brain is in the wrong proportion to their body. Our results show this as the total arse that it is.

ShinyFootball · 28/06/2020 20:51

Stripes but some of the traits oppose each other so how can someone have full marks on both?

'When Daphna Joel did her research into there being no such thing as male brain or female brain Physically she started by pointing out that in psychology there is no correlation between feminine and masculine traits'.

And who/ how was it decided which traits are masculine and which are feminine?

MrsVeryTired · 28/06/2020 20:51

Although being casually masculine might explain my hairy chin I suppose Wink

I must try and answer for DP see if hes "casually feminine" Grin

notheragain4 · 28/06/2020 20:52

I'm mostly masculine apparently. I guess because I swear, am dominant, ambitious and don't like children.

I'm so confused. I'd better go declare myself as a man who menstruates, because that would make so much more sense than a woman having those traits. Someone's gotta keep women in their place.

ShinyFootball · 28/06/2020 20:53

It makes no sense unless you believe that there are innate differences in average.

Gender (masculine /feminine) has been used to control people's behaviour.

What's wrong with the idea that both men and women have a range of personalities which is linked to them as individuals?

The constant drive to split out men and women into 'type' is very telling.

Stripesgalore · 28/06/2020 20:55

‘And who/ how was it decided which traits are masculine and which are feminine?’

Presumably social psychologists did based on a broad social consensus on what is considered masculine and feminine.

The test isn’t supposed to include opposites. It is supposed to only include positive traits- analytical, compassionate etc.

ShinyFootball · 28/06/2020 20:56

'broad social consensus on what is considered masculine and feminine.'

Which varies over time and around the world???

MrsVeryTired · 28/06/2020 20:57

DP on my filling it in for him is highly feminine but also highly masculine, so androgynous, I'm more masculine than he is Grin

PlanDeRaccordement · 28/06/2020 20:57

Heh.
I’m 97% Masculine, but 25% Feminine. I am “extremely masculine”
Very funny stuff.

Stripesgalore · 28/06/2020 20:57

Absolutely women and men should just be seen as people with a range of personalities.

But currently we live in a world of gender stereotypes that influence how people behave. Many people are working to change that.

MsMarvellous · 28/06/2020 20:57

I'm 83% masculine. So Typically Masculine apparently. Probs 'cause I swear and describe myself as confident and willing to stand up
For myself.

What a pile of steaming shite

Stuffofawesome · 28/06/2020 20:58

I'm 64% feminine out of 120% 🧐

Stripesgalore · 28/06/2020 20:59

‘Which varies over time and around the world???’

It isn’t designed to be used at any time and at any place in the world.

tabulahrasa · 28/06/2020 21:00

Also casually masculine... wonder how much the swearing tipped it over... lol

dudsville · 28/06/2020 21:00

I'm 56% masculine, mwahaha. I'm going to start 'splaining.

Stripesgalore · 28/06/2020 21:01

“We are amused because of the likes of Mermaids "educating" us that people are trans if their pink and blue brain is in the wrong proportion to their body. Our results show this as the total arse that it is.“

It isn’t a test of gender identity and never mentions trans. It is about sex role stereotypes.

Bananabixfloof · 28/06/2020 21:01

@Stripesgalore

Absolutely women and men should just be seen as people with a range of personalities.

But currently we live in a world of gender stereotypes that influence how people behave. Many people are working to change that.

Umm yes and here on fwr we do our bit to change the stereotypes. You been here before?
Stripesgalore · 28/06/2020 21:02

Yes banana I have been here since it started.

SpillTheTeaa · 28/06/2020 21:02

Oh I'm more masculine because I'm a head strong woman. Silly me. How dare I answer. Back and defend my opinions.

PlanDeRaccordement · 28/06/2020 21:03

I actually avoid swearing and scored 97% masculine. That’s probably why I’m not 100% a man in the body of a beautiful woman.

ShinyFootball · 28/06/2020 21:04

Which country and what era should it be used?

I didn't notice any notes to that effect on the quiz Confused
