At what age did you know you were a lesbian or bisexual? I’m asking because I want to help support my daughter who has recently come out to me.

Agree the ‘she can’t know’ could be meant either way - I instinctively take it as homophobia (no one asks “when did you realise you were straight”, do they?) but it could just be parental denial of their child’s developing sexuality full stop, irrespective of orientation, which I think is somewhat understandable.

OP I guess you will know whether he is likely expressing homophobic sentiment (perhaps unconsciously) or not.

My daughter told.me at 12 that she was "part time" and had a girlfriend. She obviously meant bi-sexual, but it was the words she used.

We accepted it for what is was and that was that. What more do you need to do?
