Hi everyone! I'm new to started a thread but thought I'd just share some gratitude.

I originally joined mumsnet for tips on conception (as my OH and I have decided to start trying for a bubs! Woo! I already have one 9 y/o who I had young) and fell into the feminism posts.

For a long time I have been brewing an anger about the state of feminism. I have been watching Women's Aid get attacked, Refuge get attacked on SM. (But CALM doesn't get the same treatment) I have been getting so upset at the hatred spewed towards women (particularly lesbian women) from extreme TRA.

Other than ranting to my OH and best friend (in secret, hushed tones) I thought there were no safe places yet to talk the issues that affect women.

So thank you :)

The ability to come here as well as the ability to rant with your best friends is something that I really have appreciated. Without these boards, I would not have been able to deal with the cognitive dissonance.
