She is on Peston right now. She has spelled out the issues very clearly.
She needs to come on Mumsnet.

OP posts:
Thelnebriati · 24/06/2020 23:12

What is Peston? Do you have a link?
Maybe she's already here.

picklemewalnuts · 24/06/2020 23:15

Sounds interesting.

I do wonder who we speak to on here. I know some MNers have distinct high profiles irl, and the other way around. Various influential people lurk among us. How do they manage to avoid outing themselves?!

Lettera · 24/06/2020 23:28

What did she say?

Whatsnewpussyhat · 24/06/2020 23:36

You could at least of told us what she bloody said!

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 24/06/2020 23:42

What they said Grin

MrsFogi · 24/06/2020 23:45

It would help if you summarised what CB said on Peston - at least give us a ballpark of what "issues" we are talking about.

endofthelinefinally · 24/06/2020 23:47

Sorry. I was still watching it.
She was talking about women in lock down working full time, no child care, home educating.
She nailed it.

OP posts:
endofthelinefinally · 24/06/2020 23:49

She was actually give a couple of slots to put her points across. Which is unusual.

OP posts:
endofthelinefinally · 24/06/2020 23:51

Peston is Robert Peston on ITV.
He also had Paul Nurse on who is also very good on public health in general, covid in particular.
I have given up on the BBC.

OP posts:
endofthelinefinally · 24/06/2020 23:56

Sorry. Of course nobody knows whst I am in about.
But Robert Peston is still going, interviewing Greg Clarke now.
Cherie Blair still there and talking about this whole impact on women.
She is really good.

OP posts:
endofthelinefinally · 24/06/2020 23:56

On about.

OP posts:
FantaOra · 24/06/2020 23:57

Of course she's really good, that's probably why the press were always so nasty to her.

endofthelinefinally · 25/06/2020 00:01

Indeed.
I like her.
I met her in the ladies toilets at a conference once.
We were both in our 40s and pregnant.
She has been very forthright this evening. It has been nice to see.

OP posts:
Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 25/06/2020 00:04

I thought she was great too, always have. Any idea on how we contact her?

endofthelinefinally · 25/06/2020 00:52

Sorry I don't know. Got a bit carried away. I have been in hospital all day today and was so cheered by seeing and hearing her speaking good sense.
I read mumsnet in between having needles stuck in me. Grin. I forgot that everyone isn't reading the same threads as me.
I will try and find out how to contact her.

OP posts:
endofthelinefinally · 25/06/2020 00:54

Had a lot of painkillers today. Sorry about the typos.

OP posts:
2BthatUnnoticed · 25/06/2020 01:27

Thank you for this OP. Needles are not fun, hope you are okay Smile

endofthelinefinally · 25/06/2020 06:51

I have emailed ITV.
Thank you 2BthatUnnoticed.
I am feeling better this morning Smile.

I have been reading so many really distressing stories on here by women expected to WFT from home, do all the child care, all the domestic/family stuff. I do watch quite a lot of news/discussion programs as I am not very mobile/shielding and this topic is hardly ever mentioned. It is all about the pubs and the football.

Then yesterday I read something about how the amount of academic research/papers produced by women has dropped significantly while the same by men has gone up.

When I listened to Cherie Blair last night I was applauding.

OP posts:
hoodathunkit · 25/06/2020 08:27

You could start by asking Cherie Blair about the extent to which her husband was influenced into driking the TRA kool aid by the "prominent Jungian" Professor Andrew Samuels.

Andrew Samuels is centrally involved in the organisation Psychotherapy and Counselling Union

RW: I know you do some political consultancy work. Do you have any dealings with the leaders in this country?

AS: Yes. I have had. Before the Election I had connections with many different elements in the Labour Party going up to very senior level. And I’ve had a long term relationship with a senior American politician as well. I have made small contributions to solutions of social and political problems in Ireland, Brazil, South Africa and Japan and I’m building up a practice in this.

I have so much more to report about this, however readers may wish to research a bit themselves, there are many surprising peple and connections worthy of reflection

There is also a lot of material that has been removed from the www and the archive. Fortunately I have screen shots.

Also, please do not think that this is just a Labour problem. All political parties have been influenced by controversial, dubious psychotherapists, of which more later

hoodathunkit · 25/06/2020 08:28

please excuse my typos, am pushed for time

FantaOra · 25/06/2020 09:00

This thread is about Cherie Blair. Why are you talking about her husband? Is it not possible to talk about her?

hoodathunkit · 25/06/2020 09:08

This thread is about Cherie Blair. Why are you talking about her husband? Is it not possible to talk about her?

Because, according to various mainstream media reports, her husband was influenced by a psychotherapist and academic who was centrally involved in promoting the TRA movement within the Labour party.

I though that this information might be useful to readers.

Of course you can always ignore that and just talk about Cherie Blair if you wish.

I personally found the shole Cheriegate issue fascinating and would love to hear moe from Cherie about how she ended up being influenced by new age charlatans while in a position of significant influence.

Readers do not have to pay atention to my posts of course, they can ignore them if they wish

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 25/06/2020 09:12

@endofthelinefinally She has two accounts on twitter, a personal and one for her foundation. Hope you're feeling better.

picklemewalnuts · 25/06/2020 09:33

Thus could be really interesting.

endofthelinefinally · 25/06/2020 09:41

I can't stand Tony Blair.
I was glad to hear Cherie Blair saying what she did.
I am not on twitter, I did look on her website but the link to email her doesn't work. The press contact link does, but of course I am not press.
I had an email back from ITV thanking me for my comments and saying they would be passed on.
There has been a bit of discussion on MN recently about how it is possible to agree with people on some things and not about others. I think that is reasonable and fair. I don't think it is possible or necessary to agree with or support someone on every single issue or opinion, but it is fine to agree with what they say on a particular subject. I hope that makes sense...
