Saw this on twitter. Did a search to see if it had already been mentioned on here without finding anything, but I'm not very proficient with the search engine. I'd missed it completely and the petition, which is closing soon, doesn't have anywhere near as many signatures as I would have expected, considering the consensus amongst the general public on the subject.
I've started a thread over at /Talk/petitions_noticeboard/ with a link to the petition, because we aren't allowed to post petitions on here.
