Hi all, I’ve had an MN account for donkeys, I just never use it. My credentials: mid-forties woman with 3 boys living in London-Kent borders. Joined Twitter for first time ever on Tuesday to support JK Rowling, found the link to this group on a ‘get involved’ jump-off point from Maya Forstater.

My question is: do you all arrange meet ups (when it is safe!)? Or anything like that? I’d flick through the threads and do my own leg work only my eyes are killing me this evening. Thanks x

Hi!
There is a meet up thread, and there are various local groups (not specifically from here) but realistically people are vetted before they can join anything irl, and would normally have a long standing presence here or elsewhere online. Because as you may have picked up, people are risking jobs & friendships by 'outing' themselves as someone who is working on this.

The best thing to do is read here & everywhere, and chat to people online.

There is a thread on here called 'break it down for me' which is a good place to start.

Good luck!

Hi, Manderleyagain, thanks for getting back to me. I totally get this and should have realised, I was on BabyCentre for a while many moons ago and gosh the amount of phoneys out there. And it doesn’t help that I have zilch on my profile either. I’ll up my presence a bit more and see what happens anyway. Thank you! 🙏

I'm sure there is a ReSisters London group you could join for real life meet ups.

Contact ReSisters United on Facebook and see if you can have anyone in your area.

There is always Zoom in the meantime.

Welcome back to MN!

Yes ohilyjesus is right - it would be worth contacting your local resisters. Find them on twitter (& maybe Facebook) & there's a web site. Main account is @resistersuk and they can direct you.

Once things start again I expect there will ticketed events like wpuk.

Hello anoualler you sound very much like me. Have had an account and lurked for years but posted for the first time yesterday. There becomes a point when you can’t stay silent any more doesn’t there.

This page has a list of links to Resisters groups resistersunited.org/

But suspect the lockdown may have had an impact on which are currently active. But you may find facebook groups to join for one local to you.
