Pretty funny. But also really not funny.

She shared this one which has to be a classic.

I'm so glad I'm northern; anyone who tries to shame me or tell me off for getting justifiably angry and having an expletive-laden rant is invalidating my right to feminine expression and thus a dreadful bigot. Grin

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 16/06/2020 14:12

What an absolute load of fucking bollocks!

Jesus wept. Who, in the name of all that's holy, is Sally Hines?

ThePurported · 16/06/2020 14:36

She shared this one which has to be a classic.

"In some northern working-class contexts femininity is associated with strength and aggression"

Wasn't that written by Meg-John, one of the luminaries of genderism?
How can anyone take these people seriously?!

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 16/06/2020 14:38

Oh FFS. Jesus is inconsolable. She works at the same university that I do.

Not to worry: there's an excellent voluntary severance scheme on the table. I'm outta there!

ThePurported · 16/06/2020 14:41

Who, in the name of all that's holy, is Sally Hines?

She is a genderology professor. Has influenced the EHRC's thinking on trans issues (check out the Trans Reading List available on the website) and carries out taxpayer-funded research on batshit topics like male pregnancy.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 16/06/2020 14:44

At my university. Where they're shedding people who need their jobs to look after their families.

I loved it there. I love it no longer! Sad

ThinEndoftheWedge · 16/06/2020 14:49

Melrose

Extraordinary. They have just removed the entirety of womanhood out of femininity.

-Most women in the world are not white.
-Most women in the world are not middle class - some were not always.
-All women age and so at some stage in life will no longer be youthful - earlier for women than men (although I do believe Zarah Sultana -Labour MP wrote a very helpful letter to Liz Truss complaining about the non reversibility of adolescence)

-Most women in the world will experience some form of illness/disability - particularly with ageing.
-Cisgender - doesn’t exist
-Heterosexual - well that’s how most babies are created.
-Thin - when I was pregnant / lumpy after having a baby- that stopped me being feminine??!!

Since when has any woman been all of the above at some/all stages of her life?

But a man being a woman...

RoyalCorgi · 16/06/2020 14:49

NiceLegs - Hines has a certain notoriety on this forum. Just do a search on her name, if you can bear it. Woman's Hour once did an interview with her that was so excruciating it was almost impossible to listen to. It's really hard to believe that this woman even managed to get a degree, let alone rise to the rank of professor. (Fun fact: she's also the daughter of Kes author Barry Hines.)

Gawd tweeps, more fodder for taking a dump to.

Grasspigeons · 16/06/2020 14:56

I have come across that piece before. It blows my mind every single time

Melroses · 16/06/2020 14:57

Sally Hines can be heard here on Womans Hour's series on Gender and Identitiy (sadly broadcast just after the closing of the GRA consultation so not much help)

It is interesting to hear 'intersex' being used to prop up the argument of 'non-binary' which I now know to be an example of the 'Motte and Baily falacy'.

Sorry, accidently killed the link above.

TorkTorkBam · 16/06/2020 14:59

Wasn't there something by David Thomas "Call me Diana" about wearing pinnies?

JellySlice · 16/06/2020 16:45

Clearly some of us didn't get the memo.

'Girl-flavoured person'???

TyroSaysMeow · 17/06/2020 16:46

'Girl-flavoured person'???

Because implying one could determine a minor's sex by taste isn't problematic at all in this brave new queered world.

Fucking hell, can these people hear themselves?

SunsetBeetch · 17/06/2020 17:23

Oh, Laurie.

The unpeople formerly known as women?

Melroses · 17/06/2020 18:17

The UNWomen is a bit like the UNDead really.

aliasundercover · 17/06/2020 18:17

Surely Laurie Penny is joking? Or is she really that stupid?
