...expressing my anger that they are pushing the trans lobby agenda with no thought to the actual issues women are raising. They have just said that JKR is "anti-trans" yet again and I just got furious.

Well done you. I've deleted the app because it has boiled my piss over the last few days.

GeraltOfRivia · 12/06/2020 18:34

Thanks @BertieBob. I was also brave enough to talk to two friends about the issues and found they are on the same page but also keeping quiet. Which is interesting as I assumed everyone would disagree with me.

Good job. Though I must admit I initially read the title in the vein of "I snapped and farted". Hmm

BitterAndOnlySlightlyTwisted · 12/06/2020 20:22

I objected to their headline on Facebook mentioning her ”transphobic” comments and said it was a lie. I don’t suppose anyone cared but I felt better.

What has come out of this JKR shit-storm is the bright sunlight shining down on this issue. People have noticed and are asking questions. This is A Very Good Thing

ARoombaOfOnesOwn · 12/06/2020 20:25

I don’t delight in job losses but I do find it interesting that the woker than woke Buzzfeed has laid off lots of staff recently, whereas the Spectator is doing so well they’re paying back what they received from the furlough scheme.

MollyAtTheFolly · 12/06/2020 20:34

I've unsubscribed on YouTube because Kristin Chirico called JKR a TERF.

So misogynistic and shortsighted.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 13/06/2020 00:56

I haven't read buzzfeed in years but clicked on a Twitter link earlier. Buzzfeed news, not the listicle, bullshit quiz site, had a story about folks so disillusioned by JKR that they are planning to have their Harry Potter tattoos covered up. These people want to have life changing, potentially shattering, surgeries but they can't deal with a tattoo they no longer like, because facts? I don't know what enraged me more, the stupidity or the fact that it's considered ficking news. Angry

LetGoOfTheLittleDistractions · 13/06/2020 01:30

I'm sickened by the headlines over this. Surprisingly the BBC and Daily Mail seem to be saying "trans" row rather than "transphobic".

JWrecks · 13/06/2020 01:34

I used to read buzzfeed for a laugh years ago, until i realised they were outright deleting any and all comments even slightly critical of them. Haven't been back.

Thank you. Flowers

I used to read BuzzFeed for fun but gave up about two years ago for the same reason.

GeraltOfRivia · 13/06/2020 08:08

@HermionesMom that's what I thought of when I typed it Grin

It's just woke central over there with not thought whatsoever for women. I'm so tired of being lumped as a transphobe for wanting women included in the conversation and to be listened to.

Stopped using buzzfeed about 2 yrs ago. Not just because of their TRA stance but because the standard of writing was poor.
