It makes you wonder why we've bothered with single sex toilets and changing rooms for so long. They were obviously completely unnecessary, and women just need to stop being such babies.

That's very true.

Two thoughts:

1. This has shades of the sudden interest in period poverty as mentioned at the We're Still Here conference. I'm afraid I'm suspicious.

2. It didn't take long for 'What about the men?' in the first twitter link Well it's my theory that the rights of abused men are continuously being ignored by women's rights campaigners

Why don't the press report violence by women against men? 32% of all DomesticAbuse victims are male. Do you ever hear this in the press? They subscribe to a theory of patriachal oppression of women by men.

Jeez, you know what would be great. If men's groups decided to take responsibility for male violence, and then we women could focus on tackling female violence. I knew which I think the easier job would be.

Translated, this means - your responses to sexual assault are problematic and bigoted and your experiences/suffering aren't worth enough for anyone to actually try to address or resolve. I suppose it's the same shrugging 'rapists gonna rape' solution that Ruth Hunt came up with.
