Another trans commentator talking about the silence within the community about known sex offenders. If true, this is one of the most sickening things I’ve heard.

Oh my god.

Wow! Quite a condemnation of the rationale behind no debate.

SunsetBeetch · 12/06/2020 07:50

Going to put a link to this in the 'This Never Happens' thread.

Brave person to speak out like this.

AnyOldPrion · 12/06/2020 07:56

Thanks Sunset. Good idea.

Funny how she’s speaking out now a few weeks after legislation has been passed ??

It’s only what we’ve been saying for years. It doesn’t make it legitimate because she is now saying it.

Does anyone know who this person is?

Hoppinggreen · 12/06/2020 12:46

Hopefully as this person was born Male their voice may he heard, probably without vile rape threats for daring to pull back the veil.

DancelikeEmmaGoldman · 12/06/2020 12:48

The video was uploaded 9 months ago - so before the current legislation.

Other than Australian, no idea who Pauly J is.

Can't find anything about PaulyJ on Google. But whoever they are, they shouldn't be confused with PauleyJ (note the 'e') who is some sort of US sleb and not trans. I was quite bewildered for a while!

picklemewalnuts · 12/06/2020 14:23

He's not pulling any punches!

I appreciate their honesty and the fact that they have distanced themselves from the community and the whole no debate thing because they know its false .

I am.however almost uneasy tbh because often these honest declarations always slip in about having a discussion and listening to women and working together etc which on the surface sounds great. But its obvious isnt it. Only one of us is going to get what we want/need. Because the two situations are completely incompatible.

Suggestions were made years ago about separate spaces and all these ways which protect the safety and privacy of women and do not force transwomen to have to share the Male spaces . These were rejected every time.

What discussion is there really to be had when the only alternative has already been vetoed. At this point it's just about them appearing reasonable isnt it? Its certainly not about protecting women and children. They have always had the option to do just that and havent.

I am thankful someone is speaking out as always. So thank you. Truly . We need all the help we can get and honesty is always welcome.

I am however not thankful that someone acknowledges what we have known this whole time, what the prison population figures themselves tell Anyone , and what pretty much everyone knows already just refuses to say, and we have to appear grateful that one person deems it appropriate we have a discussion.

At least he* understands safeguarding and that no ones wants should be elevated above the needs of children (and women) to safety and privacy. And that the conversations should be had.

  • the pronouns he used for himself in the video - don’t delete me!
