Really interesting thread from twitter user "la scapigliata" about her experience with a child molester using DARVO - Reversing Victim and Offender:

She wrote about the technique after transactivists accused JK Rowling of being “unsafe around children” and likening her to Saville (!)

Its really weird watching various groups of male rights activists try to use accusations of abuse back at women, as if its some kind of clever gotcha.
All they do is show how different their lives are. Their expectations fuel their demands, they get angry at non compliance. They threaten consequenses. They threaten to leave, or to get nasty.
Its textbook.

Yes, it's such a common tactic.

We watched the meek, grieving, honest face of this man morph into an angry scowl. The kind, measured gentle words became spitting hissess. The story about his niece changed, you see she was in fact a “whore and a liar”, she had come on to him and got angry when rejected

It's disturbing familiar to read. The victim blaming strategy used by rapists through millenia.
