It's a long essay but worth a read.

Our point, rather, is that if gender identity consists solely in some type of internal mental state, and if that concept of gender identity is going to inform policies and guidance, then we need a plausible story as to why feelings maketh the man or woman (or perhaps something else) but do not maketh being dead, seeing your past or future self in mirrors, or being magically reduplicated.

I'd like to know that too.

Exactly. We don’t accept any other patients’ delusions as reality - no doctor “validates” an anorexic by agreeing “Yeah, you’re really fat, here’s a diet plan”. Why this one?
And why do women have to give up all their sex based rights to safety, privacy and dignity, in order to indulge the delusions of men?

@babdoc this is exactly why I refuse to use preferred pronouns

I like that they mention that we don't take delusions of being dead seriously - I've been there and I'm bloody glad the authorities went with the sectioning option rather than the validation-through-euthanasia option. Bloody frustrating at the time, mind, that no one could understand what I was on about.
