Is it me? It's just ruining moana for me. Then there's the comments. She's a child in this, a cartoon child but still a kid. It's creepy and disgusting af hiding behind a joke/banter

Yeah that's a bit gross. It concerns me when stuff like this might come up in image searches for young children.
It wasn't really something I was aware of but Glinner posted an interesting article from Medium a few weeks ago called 'Kids TV has a porn problem' which was eye opening.

Kids tv has a porn problem....

Kin el sentence I didn't think I'd ever hear

It’s not the first and it won’t be the last

I’ve seen a zootopia one too. It’s an adult joke and kids are unlikely to find it

I googled moana and this didn’t appear

chunkyrun · 03/06/2020 14:24

That's good to know

It was on my Instagram explore page

It would be gross even if no image was attached to it.

But gross people are going to be gross. It's just some random group of people, isn't it? There have always been some people who are crude and gross.

There are some horrible creeps doing stuff like that that turns up when a child clicks on what they think will be another episode of their favourite cartoon on youtube.

BatShite · 03/06/2020 15:00

I find it seriously creepy how so many seem to do this, sexualise kids stuff. Really don't get the need at all.

Z0rr0 · 03/06/2020 15:37

I hadn't realised until I read the article that there's a whole community of people who make pornified art of kid's cartoon characters.
I asked my daughter about it who spends a lot of time on Insta and Pinterest and she did say that if you scroll for long enough you will find these images. She's 15 so it's not ideal but she's old enough that I'm less worried about it than for my younger daughter, but she's not looking at the same stuff.
The article points to the fact that a number of the artists who created this stuff have since gone on to get mainstream jobs actually creating kids TV shows but they haven't ditched their less savoury roots, so if kids like the show creators and do searches on them, they will find the adult stuff on their Twitter and other social media.
The article is here if you're interested.

Definitely not my cup of tea, either now or when I was of an age to be the target market of "Oz - School Kids Issue" in 1970.

It was school kids that did these 'orrible things back then. Maybe it is part of an adolescent process of signalling ejection from childhood and taking delight in shocking parents?

If you want Rupert The Bear to remain unsullied in memory, don't look!

Ignorance really is bliss. It's just one more thing to throw on a pile isn't it

Shaggy was trending on Twitter this week because someone made Scooby Do porn.
