Sadly, as with these cases, the number of charges may be small in comparison to the real number of victims.

The Scouts are almost bankrupt in the USA through lawsuits because so many scout leaders commit/ted sex abuse.

14 years is a pretty hefty sentence too.

Also, who would have thought someone would go through all these ‘processes’ just to have access to vulnerable people?

As more of these cases come to light, are we as a society learning our lessons or blindingly sweeping them aside as ‘there will always be a few bad ones but don’t let them determine processes that are in anyway exclusionary.’

Safeguarding principles are under constant attack. This case is demonstrative of how they can be vulnerable if we listen to personalities over principles.
