I keep trying to get my head round the fuzzy language from Bloody Good Period, The Vagina Museum et al about things female bodies do and have. So I read this article, which didn't help me understand, gave me a bit of a headache - but, the comments are worth a read.

There have been zero protests from anaorexics and pcos sufferers about how offensive the word woman is. Infact pcos is a specifically female condition and sex is important when dealing with anorexia because statistics need to be accurate , the calorie requirements of men and women are different and of course the risks to the baby if the mum is anorexic.

How dare they

No. 10 is the real reason. Post-menopausal women, women on birth control, women with DSDs, girls who aren't yet menstruating, women who have had hysterectomys have never demanded that the words 'women and girl' not be used when discussing periods. The only people who make these demands are the trans community.

Comments are good. Juliet Oosthuysen points out the obvious logical flaw:

It really is that simple. It's like the difference between saying all rapists are men and all men are rapists. Or All Dogs Have Four Legs and All Four-Legged Things Are Dogs.

A simple Venn diagram is all the Maths that is needed.

Two separate circles. The one on the right is males. The one on the left is females. Within the latter, a smaller circle representing those women who menstruate. Doesn't overlap with the male circle. FFS. That we are having to waste our time with this shit.
