I'll email the Baroness. Good to know someone is on our side.
Like many others, I wrote to M&S and got the standard "yes dear, now piss off" reply: "As a business, we strive to be inclusive and therefore, we allow customers the choice of which fitting room they feel comfortable to use ..."
Never mind the women who don't feel comfortable hearing men making sure we know they're trying on bras. And never mind the shop assistants who are forced to take part in their sex fantasies by witnessing them.
I wrote back "I would not feel at all comfortable seeing men in the women’s changing rooms. Surely the majority of your customers are women, most of whom would feel the same way, especially if they have children with them. Women like women-only facilities because they are safe for both women and children."
i included a link to a Sunday Times investigation showing that most assaults on women in changing rooms are carried out by men in mixed-sex facilities.
Needless to say, I never heard a word back.
