I'm lost for words. Women in a vulnerable state, having given birth gunned down as well as their newborns. This also included women in labour. I'm sorry. I have nothing else to say ; I'm just so tearful. There seems to be nothing about this. Here is the link: twitter.com/_EmmaGH/status/1260202962581884929?s=19
I'm sorry to be the bearer of awful news.

I can't bare this.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 13/05/2020 09:17

Not entirely clear if this is Taliban, Islamic State or some other faction. Fucking monsters, whoever they are.

Antibles · 13/05/2020 09:54

Utterly horrific. The nadir of human behaviour.

I do have words. Unshackled by civilisation and female influence, this is what the male ape in conflict can do, does, has always done.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 13/05/2020 10:12

That photo of the crib with a puddle of blood at its base made me sob. Fucking monsters.

littlbrowndog · 13/05/2020 10:37

I can’t imagine ever ever why someone would do thus

Mylittlepony374 · 13/05/2020 10:45

This is heartbreaking

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 13/05/2020 10:48

I don't want to see any pictures.

Afghanistan is a fucked up country, and has been for a very long time now. You would not want to be a woman in Afghanistan.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 13/05/2020 11:32

It is horrific

💐

OvaHere · 13/05/2020 11:49

Just horrendous. I don't really have adequate words for the lack of humanity on display here. Sad

startrek90 · 13/05/2020 19:06

The Taliban are denying responsibility but they are also refusing to condemn it too. They are disgusting. How can any human being not be revolted by this? I will be remembering these poor mothers and babies in my prayers. I am pregnant right now and it this has touched such a nerve for me

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/05/2020 21:51

Horrific SadThanks

popehilarious · 13/05/2020 23:07

I just despair. Those poor women.

WeetabixBananaHipsterFFS · 14/05/2020 00:11

I want to honour these women and their babies by reading the story, but I can’t go there either, I’m afraid.

The other day, I was thinking that I don’t believe in good and evil, but I’m not sure there’s any word other than evil to describe such actions.

CoronelSuarez · 14/05/2020 00:18

There is no goodness left in this world. Sad

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 14/05/2020 09:33

The despicableness of this is balanced by love. Think of the love of every mother for her chlidren, think of the millions upon millions of people in the world doing all they do for their loved ones, every minute of every day. How many acts of love are there? Uncountable.

It's an infinitesimal, dark splinter that's caused this horrible event. That darkness exists, undeniably, but the love does too and is as powerful. That also can't be denied, it's just as real.

Godxilla · 14/05/2020 10:08

Thank you and well said ScrimpshawTheSecond. Those are my feelings too.

Thank you ScrimpshawTheSecond that was beautiful

LouHotel · 16/05/2020 12:00

This is being shared in breastfeeding groups online.

Seems like she has inspired others to do the same

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/nypost.com/2020/05/14/afghan-women-volunteer-to-breastfeed-after-ward-attack/amp/

This horrific story sums up a strong belief of mine that whilst men will always destroy women will create.

Oliversmumsarmy · 16/05/2020 12:15

Which ever faction it was, this isn’t about religion.
This is a cult.

A religion tolerates others who are not believers. Human life is sacred.
A cult wants to destroy those that don’t believe and it doesn’t care who that is.

EwwSprouts · 16/05/2020 12:20

Utterly devastating. I have shared on social media because it needs seeing to balance all the crap that's spouted about belief/honour/righteous cause.

NotAGirl · 16/05/2020 15:14

Heartbreaking

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 16/05/2020 15:27

LouHotel, that's a touching story.

MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing · 16/05/2020 16:36

The kind of society the Taliban wish to return to is one in which women are basically cattle, except that cattle can get a visit from the vet.

The Taliban position on women and medicine was that male doctors could not examine women, and women could not be doctors.

Godxilla · 16/05/2020 20:02

LouHotel
Thank you for that link I feel a little bit better.
