I have been lurking on twitter lately and noticed Baroness Nicholson has been very active recently. Amongst her tweets are quite a few gems - letters to Liz Truss, tweets asking for evidence about Stonewall’s involvement CPS guidance just to name two.

This tweet I found very encouraging too.

She has today written to Liz Truss again but this time with her concerns about the gross misinterpretation of the ECHR in the trans toolkits used in schools and recommends that such toolkits are removed from use now. Such support is great news.

I look forward to seeing what what happens next.

People are trying to argue against her with little more than catchphrases.

It makes them look like children.

But they are children - emotionally immature. For whatever reason.

And those using the catchphrases are missing the point that she is so ‘new’ to their ‘game’ she doesn’t understand them. And frankly is never likely to care. Because she deals in the realistic outcomes of legislation not people’s feelz and whether she is in the ‘in’ crowd.

I doubt also she is going to toe any popular line because she is not needing to be re-elected, nor is she depending on a speaking circuit gig or even to maintain her academic credibility. And that is where people will find it frustrating trying to ‘cancel’ her.

They'll also measure the success of their harassment campaign by her ratios for now and be shocked when that turns out not to matter either.

It must be very frustrating when you are trying to cancel someone who simply doesn’t play by the book.

I bloody love her, she's just what we need.

They think their harrassment of her helps their cause, rather than providing exactly the kind of response that shows why some people are reluctant to speak up on this topic. It's almost kind of them to respond to the call for evidence in such a way.

I grew up thinking the HoL was a bad thing because they're not elected. Starting to see that, if the people in the HoL aren't complete twonks, then actually this has its uses. There's nothing they can do to her, is there?

Well, they can vaguely annoy her, at least until she figures out how to turn off notifications. Oh the power!

Some people in the HOL are amazing and are there on merit.
Others not so much.

I’m against torturing guilty peasants, under most circumstances.

not only peasants, children too. Maybe its a typo and was supposed to be pheasants - but that doesn't make sense. Personally I find this level of 'debate' quite torturous.

Hang on - wasn't cock, bear, dog fighting etc (not a cock fighting a dog or a bear or any combination of the three) a particularly ye olde working-class pastime? That's pretty much torturing wee animals in my book.

I am glad she pointed out 11 year olds grow up and don’t remain cute, relatively harmless kids for ever.

So the argument bolsters their position in reverse, but it's literal violence going the other way.

They should stop campaigning for trans and set up schools for language manipulation. They'd make a fortune.

I admire her cool responses to every sort of childish, petulant nonsense thrown at her. She takes no prisoners and nor should she!

I've just had a quick browse of her Twitter.

It's embarrassing that we have had to oppose what these people are saying, when they are coming across as so, so stupid. Utter nitwits. So many pervs on her thread too. Talking gibberish.

Last I checked "woman" is a gender. If you believe in gender abolition then you are saying everyone is non-binary. In which case, why do we need a legal sex on our birth certificates and passports?

So near yet so far. Gender does not need to be on passports anymore than anyones favourite colour. But sex is relevant. So saying no gender needed on passports..doesn't mean sex should be blank! Good grief..

'Legal sex' part pisses me off a lot too tbh.

Also yes to all people being 'non-binary'. Indeed. They are, finally!
