** Francis Wheen says he rang Tom O'Carroll at the Open University, where he worked as Press Officer, and asked what the aims of PIE were. O'Carroll explained very matter-of-factly that PIE wanted to reduce age of consent to four, but if the child was under four then the parents could apply for injunction and a court would decide whether or not to approve child's consent. (Tom O'Carroll is the same guy who blogged admiringly about "Desmond is Amazing".)
