National Diversity Awards secretly removes WPUK nomination and wont explain why

e received an email in response from the National Diversity Awards:
"Sorry but we could not find any nominations listed for that email address.

Please try contacting us for help.

Regards,

The National Diversity Awards Team

We had, of course, already tried emailing the National Diversity Awards team to ask for help but had received no response.

We tried again. We emailed and outlined the steps we had taken and asked for clarification.

We received another email:

Many thanks for your email and apologies for any inconvenience.

Unfortunately, upon confirming your nomination, we received a number of complaints which are currently being investigated by our advisory panel.

During the nomination process, it is our obligation to review any issues raised and we are committed to ensuring our nominees values align with the inclusive ethos of The National Diversity Awards.

Once our advisory panel have completed their investigation we will be in touch.

Thank you for your understanding.

Given that we had not completed our public profile page, we wondered where “a number of complaints” could have originated from.

We were also astonished that the National Diversity Awards had only informed us that our nomination had been rescinded when we approached them for an explanation.

Read the full and I suppose not that surprising story at womansplaceuk.org/2020/04/17/glittering-prizes-national-diversity-awards/

Will be interesting to see if they're prepared to own and stand behind 'inclusive ethos' now meaning 'male supremacist ethos' as that is what the 'complaints' will be pushing for.

In which case they'll be something of a laughing stock and that ought to be the end of 'diversity' being taken seriously as having meaning as opposed to being seen as merely PC woke bollocks.

Wow! Diversity dude bro style.
Actual women can fuck off.

bettybeans · 17/04/2020 22:15

I don't know if they're on the panel that assesses nominations but Jake and Hannah Graf appear to be judges.

Diversity doesn't include WOMEN. Women do not add anything to "diversity" because they are subversive and have been known to carry leaflets. Women's insistence that they exist as a protected sex class is unacceptable to diversity panels. In fact, WOMEN are unacceptable, unless they're men.

Diversity panels aren't keen on LESBIANS either, because some of them sit on chairs and there might be a kerfuffle about lesbians not having penises.

WPUK cannot be nominated but Kelly Maloney (formerly Frank Maloney) can. The same person that strangled his wife. Excellent. So the Diversity Awards are for abusers & wife beaters but not women. Got it.

It’s a sign of the times we live in that I would not want to attend an awards ceremony based around diversity. The concept has been captured and corrupted by straight white men. Who occasionally give awards to gay white men.

‘Diversity’ is the Freemasons’ secret handshake, updated for 2020.

donquixotedelamancha · 17/04/2020 23:12

I know what I'm going to be doing tomorrow:

There is a lifetime achievement award for people named Julie who have worked most of their careers in equality.

Celebrity of the year award for sit com writers who have campaigned tirelessly for equality.

I think WPUK need another nomination and some follow up emails if that nomination is ignored.

I do sometimes enjoy tilting at windmills.

The list of national diversity award patrons is interesting - it includes Peter Tatchell and Jackie Green (child of Susie Green).

DefinitivelyMe · 18/04/2020 07:51

What is diverse about WPUK?

Lordfrontpaw · 18/04/2020 08:56

I think we know what the awards should be called.

Better to walk away, they will only be for other people. Weasels.

DefinitivelyMe · 18/04/2020 09:36

The awards sound frightful, anyway. The whole “diversity bullshit” needs to be put to rest. But I’ll ask again, what is “diverse” about woman’s place? What category would it fit in?

testing987654321 · 18/04/2020 09:46

I have had a look at their website and I can't see any kind of aims or mission statement at all.

What is there purpose? Can anyone else find it?

Lordfrontpaw · 18/04/2020 10:03

To make money running awards ceremonies?

testing987654321 · 18/04/2020 10:23

Gah, what is their purpose, obviously.

Lordfrontpaw · 18/04/2020 10:23

I stand by my comment 😉

testing987654321 · 18/04/2020 10:38

Okay, I found this page. I am not really clear. Seems to be about grassroots organisations from diverse communities, about people who promote diversity and people being good role models.

OvaHere · 18/04/2020 10:48

What's the real purpose of these awards? Sounds like a set up not dissimilar to the Pink News nonsense.

Doesn't seem like an award that WPUK should lose sleep over.

Binterested · 18/04/2020 10:56

That website is appallingly written.

‘Our nominees and award winners are an integral part of helping people in today’s society to believe they can achieve their goals and ambitions, no matter what background you come from’

I know the diversity community loves to go big on pronouns but it’s usually best to pick a grammatical person and stick with it - at least for the duration of a sentence Grin

They’ve also won an award. The Awards Awards. GrinGrinGrin

QueenCartimandua · 18/04/2020 11:21

I've just nominated them. It would be interesting to see what would happen if they receive loads of nominations...

bettybeans · 18/04/2020 11:45

Nominations are open.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 18/04/2020 11:51

Which category... so as not to dilute our vote!

CuriousaboutSamphire · 18/04/2020 11:52

Organisation and Gender I am guessing!

Blech!

CuriousaboutSamphire · 18/04/2020 11:54

Ach! I can't find the relevant contact details to complete the nomination!

WrathofFaeKIopp · 18/04/2020 11:55

Jake and Hannah Graf appear to be judges
There you go then.

Heterosexual special.

Aesopfable · 18/04/2020 12:27

Ha! They need to check nominees are valid and real...
