I saw this for the first time this evening. I thought it was good.

I did some some bacteriological testing of water from boreholes in the Terai in Nepal partly paid for by water aid. Really good charity.

A family member volunteers in a Syrian refugee camp. A small independent charity, they build toilets and washrooms for women and children as these are not available and the women experience rape, assault and are very scared and stressed.
It makes you think.
Yet female only toilets are practically taboo here.

I am looking for a worthwhile charity, Water Aid looks good.

My experience with Water Aid wasn’t positive. I actually sought one of their chuggers out to sign up.

A few days later I got the “We are ringing to ask you if you can increase your monthly donation?”

I told them no, and pointed out if they did it again I would cancel the direct debit. They assured me they would make a note and wouldn’t.

Another few days later I got the same call. I told them they could change the direct debit to zero. I have avoided them since.

Nice advert, I've just gone onto the Andrex website and signed the pledge so they donate £1.
